1999 Lexus ES 300

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
I detailed my neighbors daily driver yesterday. While no garage queen, the single stage black paint was challenging.

Another view...

Automatic washes took her toll on this finish, and she was in need of a good cut & polish.

Plan of attack...

Wash and clay with claymagic Blue
Megs DACP w/ yellow Edge @ 1100-1200 RPMs
Megs Speed Glaze and Green @ 1200-1400 RPMs
Megs #82 w/ Edge Blue @ 1400-1600 RPMs
Megs #9 w/ PC
Poorboys EX
Natty Wax

After...

Started...

The detail at @ 2:00 PM and finished at about 6:00 PM.

I wish there was more sun to highlight the improvement a bit better...

Last view of trunk...

from other angle...

BTW... The paint really improved significantly with the DACP. But the marring and light swirls were a pain in the @$$ !!!

Fantastic work!!!!

Those swirls were awful!

Dean, do you feel that the Meguiars professional line is just about as good as it gets? Everytime that I use the products I am reminded of how nice they are, such a complete line!! IMO, most of the products really "shine" when used with a rotary. They are fine via PC, but with a rotary they are simply fantastic!! Thoughts?

I am not Dean, but I agree that the Meg's products work great with the rotary. A lot of the shine comes from the oils that are in their polishes. If you wipe the surface with a mf after using #82 or #9 if feels slippery however when using Poorboys SSR products it does not. I have found a definate need for both product lines because it seems like on some paint finishes the Meg's seems to gum up where Poorboys does not.
Great work Dean ... As always!

Clean Dean I love your work, I always wonder how you get all the little crevices like the top of the bumper or around the grill the two black parts on the side that are painted.

Amazing.

Fr0zen:

Edge pads are very versatile due to thier shape. I slow the rotary RPMs down around edges and work the product a little longer.

Interior took me about 30 mins. The owner is a clean freak, and the car is owned by a couple without kids !!! Seriously he is a clean freak, you should see his house !!!

Clean... Probably ran car through auto wash 2 times a week !!!

EX/Natty's is just stunning on dark colors!

Excellent work as usual. That was a lot of steps...A lot of patience there :) . Any reason you went straight to Natty's without curing the EX?

According to the directions on my gallon of EX it says to allow to dry to a haze then buff off. It also says that you can leave on for 30 to 60 minutes. I estimate that I give EZ about 20-30 minutes to cure as I dress the tires, quick vac, and spray wax the jambs and trunk compartment.

24 hour cure times do not work for the mobile detailer. I will try it on my own car though.
