Holy WOW, Batman! That is amazing work. I noticed in the "test" pics the DACP with rotatry/DA still left some minor swirls. But in the after shots there appear to be none? What was the difference in techniques, or pads to reach the higher level of finish?
 
Pretty amazing, but you commited the Autopian sin by not giving technique and products.



I know they're all Meg's, but which in particular?

Awesome work Mike - as usual your insightful posts give me plenty of hints on how to improve my technique for maxuimum end results.

Good job Mike, this post might be really helpful to me soon. I'm looking at trading the old Accord in on a 6 speed Corvette and it might need some work done.....hopefully not that much tho.....

I would have a difficult time giving the "owner" the keys back.
 
Lynn deserves a nice pat on the back for that interior transformation! She really did a number on those seats.



You indicated she removed the dye first, then re-cleaned with the GC Aloe Cleaner.



What did she remove the dye with before she re-cleaned with the GC? Or did she use the GC to remove it and then apply a second coat.



C'mon Mike, just buy her a Vette ;) We all have the spare change lying around for one!

I did the test spot to more or less show what was capable of each machine. After the test spot, I used the rotary over the entire car. It's still not flawless, except for where I removed the compounding scratches with the #84/W-7006, I did the rest of the car with the #83/W-8006 pad on the rotary.



While this removed a majority of the defects, it did not remove the deepest of them. In hind sight, I should have compounded the entire car but I was under a short time constraint. A scheduling mistake I have made many times. Plus, Lynn always tells me I underestimate how long it will take.



Another problem is lighting. I haven't been able to light my garage yet, so I cannot see what I'm doing very well and actually finished the rotary work in the dark.



I'm not sure how others would describe the paint on newer Corvettes, but all the ones I have buffed out, the clear coat is as hard as glass. Not fun to buff on.



I have a before and after for a Corvette, and a Viper coming up in the near future, (both black), it will be interesting to see how they compare as far as paint hardness goes.

One question, why did you leave the DACP haze on the car and wipe it all off at one time as opposed to panel by panel?
