No details booked this week, so I took the time to give the 740 a polishing and apply some zaino. It had some sap on the hood. :(

Sorry no in process pics.

Process:

Washed with valugard ABC system.

Wheels cleaned with valugard soap and a few brushes.

Tires cleaned with AM 777 APC 1:6.

Removed sap spots with 3M adhesive remover.

Clayed with zaino clay and Z6 as a lube.

Wipe paint down with prepsolv to ensure a smooth surface for polishing.

SIP on a Green 5.5" CCS pad at 1500.

UF on a 6" 3M blue pad and bigger panels blue CCS at 1700.

Prepsolv wipedown to remove polish oils.

Z6 wipedown

2x of ZFX'd Z5pro.

Z-16 on tires.

Notes:

The ABC system did not have an effect on any of the sap.

The smoothest paint I have ever polished. I think due to the ABC system and prepsolv wipedown.

The 5.5" green pad got worn and just made it thru the detail.

I did try some meznerna PO85RD on about half of the trunk and UF on the other half, both with a clean blue CCS pad. I looked at the finish in the sun and shade and could not tell a difference.

I used to love those cars - actually still do !

wonder what that 'red' would look like with a nuba topper !

I can see not having any details Bryan, if you check the weather report, it's SUPPOSED TO be raining until next Tuesday....They also said it was going to rain Mon and Tues, but it didnt. Freakin weathermen!

Bimmer looks great! Zaino owns that color.

Thanks Steck!

I had some Lusso on it back at the start of the year, looked great for about a month and was dead at 7 weeks.

Definitely one of the necest 7's I have ever seen

That's one happy car!!!

Any thoughts on using Z6 as a clay lube? I use my Z6 and Z8 extremely sparingly.

Thanks snow! I usually mix the Z6 50/50 with distilled water. Still very slick!

Looks awesome for being a 9-year old car Bryan, hehe. ;)

Did you use your Solo sprayer this time around? :)

Thank you Denzil! It has 103k on the clock. No, not this time.

Paint looks incredible as does the trim. I still say the e38 7 series are the best looking big sedans, especially with the 18" M-parallel wheels that some have.

Thanks Connor! I still keep an eye out for an OEM set of the M-par's. Not very many mint sets of those out there.

how did the 3m work on the sap?

I placed a small section of a paper towel soaked with the 3M adhesive remover over each sap spot. 30 seconds later they wiped away clean. I am guessing the sap was on the car for 2-3 weeks.

Your car looks better than most new cars!!! :bow

Thanks Thomas!

gmblack3a- Sheesh, every time I see that car it looks even better...*man* is that a great color on that body style! And what condition for 103K I know, I'm really gushing but I just love that car (and I'm more of a short-wheelbase kinda guy too).

Yeah, it *is* interesting that the "A" didn't take off the sap, wonder what the folks at AutoInt would say about that (they, or at least Ron K., would probably say to use clay while doing the "B").
