1998 Grand Prix SE and 2003 GTP

I finally got around to posting some pics from this weekend. Both of these cars belong to my grandfather. The GTP he bought about 4 days prior to the detail and the SE he has had for quite some time. He asked for my help in cleaning the SE up because hes selling it to help pay for the GTP. I would have used the halogen in some after pics but my bulb crapped out on me.

Process:

-Wash with Megs NXT

-Clay with Mothers Cali Gold System

-OHC via PC on an LC Yellow Cutting Pad X2

-Adams Swirl & Haze Remover via LC Orange Cut

-Adams Brilliant Spray Glaze by hand

-Waxed with Collinite #845 via LC Black Wax pad

As you can see the swirl marks are very plentiful all over the car. The hood, roof, and trunk were starting to show some signs of light oxidation. Some of the swirl marks were pretty deep and I didn't expect the whole car to come out perfect.

Here is a 50/50 shot of the hood after 2 passes of OHC

And this is after the BSG and #845

Here is the GTP, it was pretty much flawless. Either the dealership did an excellent job of preparing the car or the person who owned it before it was traded in was an autopian. Even under the 500w halogen I had a hard time finding any swirling at all. I picked up a fair amount of contaminants with the clay bar but that was it.

I really only detailed the car because he wanted a durable wax with the winter months approaching. I didn't take any before pics because I didn't have any batteries for my camera.

I LOVE the chrome dual exhausts coming out the back. This thing has a pretty nice growl to it :2thumbs:

And finally a shot of how tightly the Collinite beads up in the rain :woot2:

Excellent job on both details, and a nice selection of products.

By the looks of the OHC comparison shot, you added a lot of depth and gloss to the finish.

Collinite beading looks awesome as well. :2thumbs:

The pinstripe was shot and in some places it was non-existent. He does have a replacement and I offered to put on but he said not to worry with it :nixweiss

Thanks for all the compliments! I spent a lot of time on both cars and seeing that they measure up to autopian standards makes me feel good :hifive:

I would have gotten some full car shots, but it was raining out. Thankfully he had a garage we were able to detail in. The next time I make a trip out to his house I will get some full car shots :bigups

Thanks for the kind words, scott, I know when my work meets your approval Ive done something right!
