1995 Black Civic returns from the grave by Got Leather

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The only part I know of that was painted was the driver side fender. As far as the paint measurements, the readings were all over the place. The only spot that was thin was the hood at 0.57microns. No sanding was done to that area. The rest of the car was 120 - 215. The picture with 120 is the trunk and after sanding and polishing it went down to 117. Thanks again,

The car looks amazing! What a save. I just don't understand how the sanding doesn't permanently damage the finish. When It think sanding I think of removing clear/paint.

Believe it or not, which you should because this is proof of it, when done properly, sanding will correct better than polish, and remove less clear than regular polishing will. It key to this is uniformity. It creates a planing effect that removes equal ammounts of clear under the entire sanding disk, thus offering a much better correction.

Know this is an old thread, but I think this is pretty amazing. It almost makes me wonder if you can buy cheap $3000 cars that have paint like that, pay Got_Leather a few hundred bucks to correct the paint, and then sell it for double!
