1994 Lexus LS400 in Silver

I just finished preparing my 1994 Lexus LS400 for the winter -- I just bought the car in September and it was my first time polishing it. There are some signs of its age, with a fair share of scratches and swirls, but silver's a funny colour. I can't see any paint defects in the sun, only under streetlights and the such.

I found the Lexus clearcoat to be very hard, and in the end there was some comprimising -- I didn't want to use anything higher than Optimum Compound on an orange LC pad, so there were still swirls when I finished. The colour hides it, and it's my daily driver, so...

My process:

* Clay

* Optimum Compound with orange LC pad

* Vanilla Moose with white LC pad

* Collinite by hand

* Two days later, Megs #16 with a black LC pad

It was my first time applying wax with a PC, but after reading recommendations on applying #16, I gave it a shot and wow! What a difference - nice and thin coat with a real nice shine:

The last shot would have been so much better without my reflection in the glass, I didn't notice it until processing. :mad:
