well, what year is your girls car. this car is 13-14 yrs old. Paint was never prolly polished before. I tried SSR 2.5 but i dont have good results with that on this car, NOR my rsx. I had to use the 3m III cut compound first. Then follow with either ssr1. And the paint looked swirl free, just needed a glaze or wax to finish.

It's a '96 black VW Jetta. Never taken care of and has swirles/scratches galore.

I guess I could try the SSR1 first and if that doesn't help then I can try your process.

Just don't want to buy stuff that I'll hardly use ;)

haha my sister has a 01 jetta. pain in the *** because of the hard clear of VW. but i guess its pretty easy to correct with an agressive polish and pad.

Is the 3M III the same as SSR2 or 2.5? And did it leave a haze, that's why you used SSR1 after, to bring the shine back up?

Do you know if Z-PC is comparable to SSR1?

only a slight haze, hand buffing off left a thin layer. I used a lot of product on the pad, so the ssr1 made it look ready for wax after that
