Well, i finally got to polish my brothers car. A 1993 300ZXTT with just about every bolt-on, except upgraded turbos. You name it, its on this car. More details to come. . . . .

Well this car was swirled BADLY. My first detail, other than my own car, but it was a learning experience.

Steps were:

Wash

Clay

Rinse / Dry

3M PI III Rubbing Compound via sonus yellow cutting pad ( now retired )

SSR 1 via white polishing pad

NXT wax by hand/pc finishing pad speed 2

Anyways, I only snapped a few pix, because I was tired from the long ordeal, better pix to come as well.

enjoy

I think I did a major improvement for this 13yr old car. took out 90% of swirls. Looking a LOT better.

Thanks for looking

Nice, looks good... great cars to work with, too. Hope you find this hobby as enjoyable as the rest of us do!

Iam located in Va and want some good photos of my car. Where is that parking garage located, all of the ones I go to are always closed. I live near VCC mall in hanover.

I *think* you said first detail other than your car.

I think you are holding out.

You did a great job. I hope my first turns out half as nice as that.

:2thumbs:

Very nice job.

My gf's car is almost in the same condition as the 300Z, maybe a bit worse.

Do you thik that the same results can be achieved by using just SSR1 and a PC?

Those pix were taken at KingsTown garage lot.

BEAUTIFUL! How long did it take you?

I guess about 7-8 hours all in all. Took a break to eat dinner and relax. The 2nd half seemed to go much faster though, it was a learning experience. Now I can detail the rest of my families cars . . . . . .

The Z is pushing about 380 to the wheels, I think. He just got done installing aftermarket clutch, flywheel, downpipes, and lightened pulleys. Nothing left to do but turbo's. But on this car you have to pull the motor to do that. Thats the only downside to this car, its a pain in the *** to work on, NO SPACE in the motor.

HKS exhaust, carbon fiber wrapped canisters to whoever asked

well, what year is your girls car. this car is 13-14 yrs old. Paint was never prolly polished before. I tried SSR 2.5 but i dont have good results with that on this car, NOR my rsx. I had to use the 3m III cut compound first. Then follow with either ssr1. And the paint looked swirl free, just needed a glaze or wax to finish.
