1991 Holden Caprice - P21s Paint cleanser, DWG & Jetseal 109

Hi Everyone,

I spent last week giving my dad's VQ Caprice a spruce up. The aim was to switch from a carnauba wax and use a sealant combined with a good quality acrylic glaze because light colours tend to look a lot better IMO with a reflective sealant finish rather than a wet carnauba finish.

The extra durability of Jetseal also gives me more time to spend on regular washing, QDing, trim detailing, etc.

The process was as follows:

1. Wash with Megs Gold Class Shampoo;

2. P21s Paint Cleanser;

3. IPA wipedown;

4. Danase Wet Glaze x2;

5. Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 x2;

6. 24 hours later - Meguiars Final Inspection quick detailer;

7. Danaze Wet Glaze x2;

8. Jetseal 109 x 2.

I was very happy with the end result:

Here's some of the products used on this detail (the Jetseal is in a generic bottle because I gave the proper one away half-full to my boss ) :

Holdens are from Oz.. several are here in the YooEss under other names.. such as Pontiuc GTO= Holden Monaro and I think the G8 is a Holden too.

Curious design - - looks like a Buick mated with the original Ford Taurus. Interesting car. How is the performance with the V8? FWD?

Im pretty sure we have these here too, under the Mercury name, though I may be mistaken. Cars like this aren't exactly my bag...

Yeah...I hadn't looked at this thread because I figured a Holden Caprice was nothing like a Chevy Caprice...then I thought maybe it was, so I looked...and it almost looks like a Lumina front with a Taurus or Sable back...Caprice270...do you know if this car has any relations to US models?

Mike, no, I've never seen such an animal. I'm curious about the FWD vs. RWD config.

... it does have a distinct similarity to a Mercury Sable of the same era.
