1990 Civic First full detail

I decided to do this for a good friend as it really needed some help. The car has 280 000 km's on the clock and never gets a bath. This was a learning curve for me and the first time with a rotary.



I was not sure on a process to choose so I bought this stuff and went to town. If my process is no good please let me know any advice is greatly appreciated.

Wash Foam gun with dawn

Some wet sanding for some caked on tar.

Judging by the sun reflection on the fender it looks like you've still got a good amount of swirling and marring, at least in that area. You're gonna want to use some deeper cut polishes and pads for paint with that many blemishes. But overall, good job on the first detail.

Thank you, is there anything you suggest? I can pretty much order anything. I still have a few cars to do that are in this kind of condition.

Well, personally, I love the Menzerna line of polishes. However, many people use many different things, so you'll just have to decide what you want to go with based on reviews. I have been using Intensive Polish and Final Polish 2 for a while now (with lake country orange and white pads - orange is higher cut and white is lower cut) and really like them. However, sometimes I don't get as deep a cut as I'd like so I'm going to be ordering the Super Intensive Polish, which I would probably recommend for this type of project as well. So, use a deeper cut pad (orange) and polish (intensive or super intensive), then use a lighter cut pad (white) with some final polish or P0166FF, then finish up with whatever sealant or wax you want to use.
