i believe for the newest C ,only SOME get assembled in Brazil, the ML320 was the first benz built in the US,i think,at least on the Alabama plant wich is the only one i know of so far

Yeah, you are right, for some reason I thought the C was built here when it got so cheap. I guess it was just that MB stopped jacking the prices up so much for the US market. It was so bad for a while that people were taking a European vacation with the car pickup because even with the vacation it cost less than buying the car here! I have a friend whose father worked for a relief organization so he lived various places around the world when he was a kid, only spending the summers here. When they moved back here when he was a teenager, he was kind of miffed at the MB mystique here in the US, remarking that in other places in the world, "MB's are taxicabs".

yeah that's true, over there in Europe a benz is like a toyota over here, even the ones that come with leather seating wich is 97% of them in the US,have fabric seats over there, the C is the cheapest model they got ,i work at the dealership and its funny seeing a lot of these stuck up customers driving a C thinking they got a ferrari or something just trying to show off, still expensive to maintain for most part, but they did an awesome job re-designing the c class,i wouldn't mind driving one now haha

Beautiful car, looks like it was for sale at some point. Is the owner still interested in selling it? I'm starting to look for a relatively low mileage 1989
