This vehicle is one of four this client is having me do, a muscle car is a little different car than I am used to doing(italian pinto's lol) so it is a welcome break.
This car is a great driver which will not win any concour shows but means alot to the owner's wife, the shop who painted it cut MAJOR corners and this job was well beyond a correction and seeped into a light restoration as there were ton's of sand scratches and marring.
The beginning.............
Left over sand scratches 1000 grit by my estimate
In this shot you can see the marring and the dullness of the finish, throughout the detail you will see the paint leveled and much more clarity
More left over sand scratches
Another example of corners cut, sanding after the turn signal is affixed!!(hurting laziness!!)
Here is the quarter panel not corrected, and the door compounded with
GI new extreme cut plus (beta) and GI grey wool pad
50/50 shot after extreme cut plus(beta) and (beta # 4 meduim cutting polish which corrected all the wool pad marks which almost finished down completely with the GI fast cut white foam pad)
This is another pic of a panel after the same two steps with the light of truth, almost no holograms and this is before finish polishing!!!(at this point I am really pumped because for 95% of the public this would be a finished product)
Remember this is before with holograms everywhere
Finish polishing with a small pad, at this point the finish was so leveled that everything finished down no matter what I used(GI beta #5 finish polish, 205, ultrafina etc...)
Even though I put alot of time into the detail, it was fun as the finish was some of the best work I have ever put out. Checking the bonafides
Last shot in the shop, clarity was night and day!!
This morning we finally had some sun(rain all weekend) and I REALLY wanted sun pics, doing the final wipedown
Let the sun shots show the correction
In this pic you can see orange peel leveled, and extra clarity
