Process:

Clay and wash

Polish metal wheels with Flitz and Flitz ball.

All chrome with Turtle wax Chrome Polish.

Buff paint w/ Megs DACP + Green Edge Pad.

Megs SFP w/ Blue Pad.

All done w/rotary between 1000 to 1600 RPMs.

Invisible glass on windows and mirrors.

Enjoy ...

Great job, would love to see a down view on that huge flat hood, lol.

Not enough respect is given to detailing these type of cars, the detailed work involved can take forever with all of that chrome.

I am not a big fan of lowering cars and putting oversized wheels on them myself. But, the owner of this car has a real eclectic collection. Everything from modern sports cars, classics, huge trucks, to outrageous hot rods. I can appreciate just about anything, and I can see the attraction to these types of cars.

Beautiful car that has been ruined by those wheels :(

I agree, but you did a fantastic job on the detail!

What they said.

I like the Torque-Thrust style wheels, but not on that car or at least not in that size; I like to see some sidewall on cars like that. Oh, I might as well admit it, I like to see Cadillac hubcaps on cars like that :o

Clean Dean- that must've been an enjoybable project, despite all the work.

Was it still single-stage or had it been shot in b/c? You sure got it looking great.

Removed the fenderskirts. I used Flitz polish some MF towels, a Flitz ball w/ dewalt drill. Inside the wheels I used 0000 steel wool, MF towels, rubber gloves, a lot of elbow grease and curse words.

Accumulator: The paint was clearcoated and a recent repaint (less than 1 year). The paintshop did the usual compounding without finishing the job. Nice deep wool buffer swirls all over !!! :furious:

Sheesh, same old story, huh? Glad to hear the owner took it to you so you could sort things out. Now let's hope it *stays* nice.

It sorta looked like b/c, but I never trust myself to be able to tell from internet pics ;)

Clean Dean--saw your work on DC: marvelous. I concur with Accumulator. I'm sure the Cadillac La Salle Club would be all :shocked about it but to each his own. :up

Great work as always Clean Dean! I have family in Jersey. Its the only place I have seen people with colored gravel instead of grass in their yards. What part of Jersey is that?

It's got to be Southern Jersey. It looks exactly like my friends' places in Point Pleasant and Mantoloking. My family had a home in Beach Haven and it was gravel too. That's my educated guess.

The car looks sweet. Great work on black! :bigups

Reminds me of the Bat Mobile. I really like those wheels, but not on that car. Outside of being lowered, it looks pretty much new old stock so those wheels look kind of dopey. If it were tricked out, then it would be a different story. Anyway, to each his own!

Regardless, the car looks wonderful.

The original wheels for that car were often chrome and had some parts painted to match the body. My guess is that they are really difficult to get a hold of a set that is as nice as the car you are going to put them on.

I agree, some more sidewall would be nice (HUUUUGE WHITEWALLS!!!) but I don't think those rims look too bad on it, he could have gone with something a bit thicker. And that bad boy doesn't look like its lowered at all, those things sat low to begin with.

Great job with the detail.
