Completed this 1965 Ferrari 365 GT yesterday. It was my fourth black vehicle in 4 days and even though it needed a good amount of work, it was certainly in better shape then the previous cars I came across. The car was repainted and restored about 10 years ago. The owner takes pretty good care of it and it isn’t driven much. He wanted it buffed out as he is competing in a Concourse event today.
Paint was a little weird since it seemed somewhat soft yet I was able to go from EC to 106FF with no middle step. The car does have a clear coat which helped. The car is actually pretty big which is why it took me a while.
Final Process:
Wash, no clay needed
HT-EC with orange cut pad @1500rpms x2 in some areas.
Menz 106FF with blue finesse pad @1500rpms ->1000rpms x2 in some areas from previous polishing marring (very slight)
Re-Washed and FK425 wiped down (I took outside pics at this point as it was getting dark)
