1967 Stingray Vette Show Car!!! (Tons of pics..56 death)

You can see in the pic below it has an LS1 Badge on the hood cowl. I'm 99% sure the customer said 425 rwhp but haha you guys make it seem like I should have said 525 rwhp.

Great looking car, it's too bad it's not original with a 427. The wheels and the top of the seats were a giveaway to me. It's almost like it's a modern chassis underneath a '67 body. Excellent work and thank you for sharing.

That has to be the most beautiful car I have ever seen on Autopia! Lambos, Ferraris, Jaguars, etc have nothing on the '63 to '67 Corvettes!

The paint looks incredibly wet too. :bow

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Its pretty much just the body kept pretty orginal other than the paint of course. Everything else is modernized per say. He has another project car that I got to take a peak at. Can't remember the exact year but he has a 65 or 69 Camaro convertible completely stock in his garage. He says he plans to keep it stock this year then drop new motor/tranny in it next year with some paint and body work. He said he is definately not going to spend the coin he spent on the vette on this camaro. I think the funny part about the whole situation is that his daily driver is a 91 Honda accord coupe with over a 100k. The guy is extemely pleasant and cool. He said he will have me clean up what I can the Camaro. The body is in decent shape with some rusted out spots here and there. Its a gorgeous bright blue with the old laquer finish. Not the prettiest but certainly has potential!

Im very pleased with the RMG + Souveran combo on this color. Of course I have to give credit to the 1-2 month old 2 coats of Z that was already on it. It was my first time ever using the RMG. Cant wait to try it on other colors. Not long ago I was admiring everyone posts when they got a hold of Ferraris and Lambos, thinking man I wish could detail such nice cars. Wish came true! :)

Whether you agree with the mods or not, that is one excruciatingly beautiful car!

Your photos are terrific, too.

Beautiful car and a great detail! That is a truely timeless design. Id change the wheels, but otherwise the car is stunning! I would have to guess the guy has $100-125k into the car, its an extremely nice resto-mod Vette. 425hp to the wheels isnt going to get that car in the 10's even as light as it is, but I would think it could break the 11's. Lets not forget that the 425hp at the wheels is less than the motor is making because of driveline losses.

Minus the wheels, it's probably the nicest (IMO) vette I've seen...period.

Your detailing skills set that one of a kind vehicle off like no other.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for all the compliments. I have to give the guy credit for taking excellent care of it. I just simply gave it a little extra pop. I was amazed of the wetness I was able to achieve on the silver.

As far as investment he said he has 175k into the car. The paint and bodywork alone cost about 40k. I dont know much else about how much he payed for the car itself or anything else. The paint has very little OP and didnt find any fish eyes or runs. Very top notch paint job.

He is waiting on the buyer for the wire transfer to go through...he's selling it for 160k.

I think i do...the largest i have though is 1600x1200 I believe. The pics in the post are reduced to 800x600. Any of the pics you would like the larger version of? I can post them late tonight when i get home from work.

sweet Stingray. The paint really shimmers! Great detailing :-)

My uncle still has his '66 327 Vette (restored and in a museum) and I've got fond memories of Turtle-waxing the beast when i was a kid. Even back then, it turned heads everytime we took it out on the highway.

It could be my monitor, but the Silver Pearl paint job seems darker than stock. Also the gauges aren't historic, nor is the steering wheel. I love the original Teak telescopic wheel on the old Stingrays.

Well I believe the owner didnt go for a full 100% original restoration. He gave it modern tweaks. The gauges are all auto meter phantom gauges. Its not a true silver, more of a light gray or darker silver
