I noticed you used SIP on a white pad and finished down with 106 on the blue. Is this your normal process (I found SIP is great on an orange pad and 106 on the white) or was there a particular reasoning behind this? Great work Chris!!!
Even though this car was repainted about 3 years ago they used single stage paint and its actually quite soft. SIP on orange pad wasnt quite bit enough to remove all the marring the vehicle had so I added a little EC. That step left a lot of marring of its own behind. SIP on the white pad removed the previous steps marring but left slight holograms. 106FF with blue pad removed that and brought the paint's clarity up to full potential. I usually ALWAYS finish with 106FF and a blue pad on every detail, I feel that combo really burnishes the paint to its highest gloss and leaves no holograms behind when done right. I feel the white pad was just little too "stiff" for really soft paint to finish down, resulting use in the blue finesse pad for its softness. I let the polish (106FF) do the work instead of the pad.
