Thanks, Jean Paul. It actually isn't original paint, but it was re-sprayed within the first ten years of the cars life, so it's at least 30 years old. It's base/clear lacquer.

Did you notice any difference in the polishing vs. the more common clear enamels?

Not a ton, except that the paint was very hard. It did finish down quite well, and much more easily than a lot of modern cars, but I assume that is just because it isn't as soft or "sticky". I think the fact that it's lacquer may have always contributed to some of the cracking on the hood and rear, but that's just a guess.

Wow, what a difference! Another great job Kevin. :bigups

Doesn't get much better than a big block numbers-matching mid year Vette.

Very nice work. The car looks amazing. Did you do anything to the interior and/or engine? I'd love to see some shots.

Thanks. I just did a quick job on the interior, vacuum, leatherique, 303, windows...you know the drill. I didn't take any shots of it though, sorry :( It's all original except the shifter if I am not mistaken. I didn't clean the engine by request.

When I go back I will make sure to get engine shots of the vette and chevelle. :)
