1963 Jaguar E-Type

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
This late 1990's frame off restoration, was incredible. The paint needed just a claying and a pass with Meg's #82 before a UPP seal and Natty topper. The engine was where most of the work was devoted. I used Mother Metal polish, AM's Seal It, 0000 steel wool, about 10 hucks towels and 2 MF towels. A lot of work on the engine, but so satisfying. The pics are a bit dark, and I hate photographing cars indoors but I had to share this one with DC !!!

The wheels are incredible, and I would eat off the fenderwells (all-purpose + AM Seal-It). The interior was simply vacuumed, cleaned with AP then buffed with a MF after applying Stoners Trim Shine. The leather received a full Lexol treatment.

Incredible car to say the least...

One of my friends has that exact same car!! I'm dying to polish it!! He claims it doesn't need anything but washing because the paint is so hard. Maybe your pictures will convince him!!

Great job Dean - as always! :bigups :beer

Absolutely Amazing!

Looks like a ton of nooks and crannies on that one!

How do you like Seal-It? I got a sample and only used it once on some chrome wheels, but didn't really monitor them.

I used to use it on windows, it makes them 100% streak free and they're SO easy to clean afterwards. On chrome it was alright, but I prefer PwC. I never used it on paint so I can't comment on that. It's been a couple years since I last used it, I don't even know who the distributor is around my area anymore since they got bought out.

GSRstilez...

Very quick shine on paint. Excellent on door jambs and engine bays. Never used it on glass shotime, but I WILL. I really like having Seal-It in my arsenal, and a friend of mine w/15 years of detailing experience swears by it. He uses it on dealer car with a topper for a quick wet shine.

Thanks, dalmore and Luv-N-it. The paint on this car was definitely not original, but the paint work was done at no expense spared.

absolutely gorgeous!! The E-Type is one of my favorite designs and IMHO it is a truely timeless beauty. What lines!!

I had a '63 Corvette conv (also a body-off restoration) back in the 80's and it looked like a Gremlin next to one of these beauties.
