this weekend when i recieve my Klasse AIO i will be doing some noobie detailing hopefully. ive been hearing good thigns about #16 but the thing is its extremely hard to find and autopia doesnt have it in stock (i heard it is being discontinued?). where else can i get it? also will #16 be a good topper for AIO?

#16 is an excellent "all around" wax since it looks great and lasts a long time.

We have a poll going on right now asking whether everyone's favorite topper is a sealant or a carnauba. You might want to check it out.

I personally, would prefer a sealant over AIO like WG, EX, EX-P, GW, etc. and *then* top with #16 for added durability.

What color is your car by the way? Is this going to be for the green or silver car? Or will it be used on both?

I bought #16 at Riebes (Napa Auto Parts in some places) and I also found it at West Marine. At Riebes it was 10.99 and it was 15.99 at West Marine...

its going to be used on both cars. the Infiniti is the one with the brillant silver and the mazda is the dark green. im mostly going to be using it on the Infiniti since its my new car and the mazda is soon going to be for sale (maybe not, it depends). im not looking for extreme showcar shine thought since im living in the city and the car has to be wash almost every week(i wax every 2-3 weeks since im still in highschool and i have plenty of time) since its so dirty here. im mostly looking for durability and protection. at my local pepboys i also saw some NXT Tech Wax, #26, Mothers, Gold Class(i dont even want to bother with this since i heard so many stories of it being washed off easily), and some turtle waxes (not going to botehr with this also, used to use this and it was a PITA to remove and crappy outcomes too). will NXT and #26 going to be good to if im not able to get the #16?. ill check around autozone, target, and strauss too.

:woot: i just recieve my order of AIO today! tmorrows going to be in the lower 40s and sunday is going to be around 45. is this an OK tempature for applying AIO and maybe NXT or #26 as a topper? i really really want to give the cars a real good wash and a some wax. a lot of road salt and other grimey stuff are stuck on it thanks to the winter storm.

Typical. West Marine is more expensive on everything. But they will price match!

I cannot find #16 locally. West Marine is supposed to carry it and they don't; none of the auto stores sell it.

i couldnt find a site for Riebes. but i found some yellowpages about it saying its in california. well i live in new york... anyways should the lower 40s be a good temp for applying AIO and NXt or #26 as a topper? the highest will be around 45.

i searched online at autozones site and found Meguiar`s Mirror Glaze #26 Paste which is also avaible at my local autozone too. i will be checking it out this afternoon. i thought #26 was yellow high tech wax instead of mirror glaze, and #16 was called mirror glaze?

The local Autozones in my area were selling the #26 paste for $4.99. I cleaned them out.:D

They might be the same price in your area, but you'll have to get them to scan the UPC code in order to find out. It will still say 9.99 on the shelf.

I got the same deal in New York from Strauss Discount Auto last summer. Bought the remaining two containers of #26 paste left on the shelves. When I was paying for them at the counter, the clerk claimed "no one ever buys this stuff". Pity there no more available.

yay:bounce , did my first non turtle wax detail today. i went to autozone and got a mothers clay bar kit with 80grams of clays, a puny tiny winy bottle of mothers carnuaba cleaner wax, and 16oz of motehrs detailing spray. i also got a 16oz bottle of #26 for 9.99, since they only had NXT and gold class and the others werent worth looking at. first i washed the car and then i clay (first time claying:) ). damn claying is a PITA, dropped half of the whole chunk of clays after doing hood cause of my stupid neighbor. after finished clay i relize that the mothers detailing spray was dried and left nasty white marks over over the car, so i had to spray the whole car with my hose again and wipe everything down with a MF. i then hand buff with AIO and that was a PITA also since i dont have a PC (dad helped me a bit with the buffing). by the time i was done with AIO it was getting dark outside so i only got to put a layer of #26 on the hood. boy did the detailing spray form mothers and #26 smelled good. all this was done in tempatures of under 40 degrees so i froze my *** off. its going to rain tomorrow but thatsonly in the afternoon so im going to wake up early and hopefully get 2 coats of #26 on it.

edit: only got to do the infiniti...

edit2: also i forgot to mention the clay did an OK job on removing contaminates, not as good as i thought it would be but it still turned out pretty good and slick.

Sounds like a big job of work! After you do it a few times you'll refine your process and it won't be nearly the pain it was this time. Really!

Heh heh, the MPV will be a pretty big job too. I'd break it up into sections, that's the way I do ours. It's a lot easier to do a wash the vehicle and then clay/polish/protect one panel than it is to do the whole job at once.

yeah. ill make sure next time i wake up earlier and do it instead of waiting till 2:00 PM.

thanks autopia and the rest of you guys. if it wasnt for you guys id still be stuck with my once a month car washes and craptastic turtle wax:bow

:woot:!!!! i got to apply 2 coats of #26 today. im simply amazed! it was easy to apply and very easy to buff off without any streaks at all! the gloss is amazing the depth was good but the slickness was not as good as i hought it would be but it was stil good enough. i applied the first coat 8 in the morning in 42 degrees sunny-ish weather. took around 45 minites by hand. took a long rest. applied the second coat at 2pm in sunny-ish weather. compared to what i used to use which was turtle wax, this is like god. i would like to share the pics (may take about a weeks or more since i used a regular non digital camera and will be scanned), how do i post the pics up on this thread?

and just to let you guys know im only 14 and i havent even driven a car yet:cool: . believe it or not:)
