15 years old and still shines

This is a picture of my nearly 15 year old Mazda 626 Turbo. The paint is original except for the hood. This is the car that my dad gave me when I first got my license, and got me started with detailing. It is a perfect example of how regular detailing can preserve a car's finish. This picture was taken after I washed it and wiped it down with Hi-Temp's Poly Plate. It is a QD type of product. The tires were dressed with Hi-Temp's Grape Tire dressing.

That's really very impressive. I love to see suich things as that. You've done a great job. Do you think you will keep the car for years to come yet?

Thanks for the comments. I plan on keeping it for a while. The car runs great, and still looks good. Besides, these 626 turbos with the hatchback are extremely rare. The sad thing is, the clearcote is dangerously thin, and in spots is gone. I must have polished this thing either by hand or with the cyclo 2 dozen times over the years.

Thanks for the comment. It is 2 wheel steering. The car has 218,000 and some change. I wish they still made cars like this.

See, now that's what I'm talking about. I like to hold on to my cars. I want my Grand Marq to look that good in its later years. That's why I want to be sure to protect it now. Great job!

Wow, that car looks great. I own a Mazda 626 DX from 1989 and even though the paint hasn't really been treated well over the years it still looks great. Its my first car and its going to be the first car I practice detailing on.
