140 Buses (Need Info ASAP)

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
So I get a call from a GM of a school district, needing 140 buses washed. 20ish of them a week. Of those, 15 are short buses. They are wanting a bid per bus and a bid per 20 buses. Nothing fancy. Nothing on the inside.

I was thinking I will need a water filter. PLEASE, SOME ONE GIVE ME INFO ON ONE!!! Is the CR Spotless a good one????????????
That way, I really would not have to dry them.
I would clean and dress the tires, which should only take 5-10 minutes per bus, if that.

So I have no idea what to charge... Most places around here, or I should say the car lot washers would charge only 10-15 to wash a bus.

He says he has to work inside their budget, so I do not want to blow it. I know 50-75 a bus is out of the question. I am pretty sure that I wouldn't even be considered.

The run down-
I can use their water.
Presoak
Soap up/Brush
Wheel/Tires
Rinse
Dress Tires

And depending on the spotless system, I will have to dry.

Also, Does anyone have a specific Fleet washing soap they recommend?

Sorry if my post was written like a 5 year old...In a hurry I guess

Not even the interior of the windshield? Sounds like at item that they might have overlooked and then want to add to the "list" afterwards. Might be worth asking about specifically.

TexasTB, I may be offbase since I don't use a water conditioning system, but my guess would be that you might want to count on time to dry windshields, rear windows, and mirrors.

Other than those items, since I don't do fleet washes I can't help much. Coastal Eddie would be a good resource.

When I email the GM back, I am going to ask if any windows will need to be done. Possibly only the front glass. Not sure yet.

Thanks Troy. I didn't get a chance to call back as it was late in the evening.
I sent my bid in, so now I just cross my fingers.

Good luck, that will be some nice steady money, which doesn't hurt in this economy!:bigups

My guess would be ..

wash (try and get a foaming wand for your power washer)
scrub
Hit wheels with degreaser
rinse
dry (a back back blower might help)
toch up windows
opt has an air power gun for wheel dressings..
