106FF and fillers debate

So the solvents In Menzerna are strong enough to swell cured automoive paint? Anyone else think this is bunk?

Only the coatings engineers at BASF, PPG, etc, industrial engineers at the OEM's (ie Mercedes, GM, Toyota, BMW, Honda, etc), our lab chemists, our customers that have direct positive experience with the product and I think this idea is bunk.

How quickly rumors can be spread by some folks out there! Could there be a commercial reason?

I'm doing a whole weekend detail on a 06 black Escalade with a pretty screwed up finish. I used SIP with orange LC and then finished with 106FF with black LC and then did a straight alcohol wipe down. In full sun, ZERO swirls. I'll be LSPing it in the morning (o crap it's already 2:45am :har: ) and I'll confirm with another wipedown and inspect in full sun for swirls then.

On a side note, I couldn't help to notice a section on the tailgate that I used less than stellar buffing skills in that exact spot (buffed on edge) and there were minor tracing of halograms visable in sun light. I'm assuming this was from improper technique (not product) because immediately after, I re-buffed that area (with SIP + orange), did another wipedown and the swirls were gone. Swelled away or hidden? I don't think so. We'll see how it looks in the morning.......

Dave, those late night-into the wee early morning hours are a real pain, I know, I decided to just do interiors late at night.
