'10 Chevrolet Camaro SS detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!

Hope everyone is doing well and recovering nicely from their turkey comas! I also hope my fellow mobile folks are staying warm. It was overcast, windy and I don't think the temps cracked 50 today in the ATL. I know...as a former yankee that should sound "warm"...but after 10 years in the Peach State my blood has long since thinned!! How I do miss those 90+ degree Georgia July's!!

Today I got to detail this beautiful and brand spanking new 5th generation Camaro SS. I will be the first to admit that I was not a fan of this car when they first hit the road but much like the C6 Corvette the more of them I detail the more they grow on me. The build quality is quite literally LIGHT YEARS ahead of my 4th gen. While my WS6 is raw and visceral these new Camaro’s are very refined and a much better all around vehicle. The beautiful thing about the 5th gen's is that with the LS3 motor they are just one cam swap away from being true street warriors. Kudos to GM...though I have a feeling in my gut that it is just too little too late.

As I stated this car was brand new having just been built last month. As such it was in great shape with just a bit of rail dust and some very light marring. The owner requested Zaino products for the detail and I was happy to oblige him. Below is a description of process and products used for the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Z-7 shampoo

Clay with Z-18 clay using Meg's #34 as a lube

Polish with Z-PC using a LC white pad and my Flex set at 3-6

Seal with ZFX'd Z-2 Pro x3 using a 314 pad with a Z-8 wipe down between each coat

Great work Mike. That Camaro looks very crisp!

PS-How's the weather in Marietta? I'm working there on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Really nice work, as always! Thanks for sharing!

I'm still on the fence about the car, though. Today's Mustang makes me think about the original; this Camaro does not take me back to the classic F-bodies, of which I owned one.

I keep looking at the bookshelf of the model of my '79 T/A, then look at today's Camaro, and think to myself, "nope."

Looking at a new Camaro never entered my mind when I bought a new car in July.

Nice job Mike. I am detailing my first new generation SS next Thursday. Hopefully the weather permits me to get my hands on her.

Nice detail!!

I am a Chevy guy, but I have yet to find out why I hate the new Camaro? Maybe it's because the car is a trendy douche bag car? Locally, everyone and thier grandmother has a new Camaro.

I agree. The new Mustangs and Challengers both look like a tribute to the originals where the new Camaro looks cartoonish IMO. I had high hopes when I heard they were going to bring it back too!
