$10,000 car wash

So although the detail is more like 6400 bucks us (rounded) i think its more the point of it being expensive over the actual price

You got that backwards - 10,000 pounds would be equivalent to 18,972.40 USD at that exchange rate.

yes it wold be but if you check out the website/video he says if only 5000 pounds, so 5000 pounds would be 6400ish. People say 5000 pounds is 10k us. So yes you are right but the detail is really only 5000pounds

HI guys...
Well coming from rainy London id just like to add that i know Paul and that in my eyes his work is outstanding...
He has just detailed my reps bmw 330ci and although silver not being the best colour for shine/depth the car absolutly glowed and i mean glowed outside in the car park...
Paul is now booked in to do a detail on his sons porsche carrera gt aswell as my reps wifes new boxter(lucky family)...
The wax he used was the royale but although priced at £7118 gbp this is for life so if you work it out for Paul this is good value...
Imagine if you were an electrician and you paid £12000$ for a reel of wire but had a length for life im sure youd buy one...
This is a very poor photo taken on my cellphone after 12 weeks on the bmw

It is still beading great..
So some may say its madness but if these people can afford it...why not after all they rub cream on their faces at $2000 a time in Hollywood dont they to get rid of nonexistent wrinkles!!!

Looking good, any more pics for us?

As to the wax, this is a hugly debated topic here on DC. I personaly am a fan of the idea, I have fallen in love with the zymol products I have tried. What are your opions on the wax, disregarding the price (thats another issue)...
Aslo where is paul, he should be on here chatting it up, its always nice to hear another opion. Maybe he could learn form us or we could learn from him.
Anyway, nice pic, now lets see one of the whole car ;)

There has been too much talk about this guy.
Friggen everywhere. Just because he charges that much, everyone talks about him. Then they guess he charges that much because he is the best of the best. Sure he has found his niche. Sure he is making plenty of money. Sure he does a decent job. Yea, I guess he has good marketing to lure in those suckers. Yes....Suckers. I guess if you have too much money...you can do what you wish with it. But c'mon. I would put his work against a few fellow DCer's.......
Who cares about how much everything costs. Geeeez...
I think that was a show off attempt......look at that ....more marketing...I bet he got more clients because if that vid.
I think I am gonna make a video.
"And this is Megs Hyper Dressing.....runs me $40 a gallon, but I can make up to 4 gallons with it. And this is PB's Sealant....I pay 12.95......"

I think if his clients were knowledgable about detailing....they would crap a brick........seeing what he charges.
All in all....he does good work, but it not the best...
I guess there are suckers born everyday, and he seems to reel them in.

Nah..... Just tired if seeing it. It is just, people see he charges that much, and think he must be the detailing god. Like I said, good for him. Wish I could get that for a detail job. I am lucky I get what I get.
I have seen results from alot here, such as you and alot more, that can produce better results, granted they are just pics on the web and not in person.

know what I am saying? Good niche...too publicized.

I totaly understand, I agree that people think hes better because he charges more. but hey thats life i gueees. I kno whow hard it is to make money doing this, for a few months my rent depended on it.. lets just say those where hungry months lol. I think hes discuess alot is becasue he has a video that is well cirulated. I thkn you should make a video and send it into somthing like horsepower tv on spike tv. Id watch it

from a marketing standpoint he is a genuis. Image what he could charge if he used Zaino. If people are willing to pay that much for his service then more power to him. If you live in an affluent area you might be able to charge his prices and do 1 or 2 cars a week. Also consider that he is probably carrying some pretty high insurance if working on that expensive of cars.

im from ny and it all depends were u are working if u go were the money is u can charge 220+ for a detail and if u are in the othere side of town u have to start ur details at 120 it all about where the $$$$$ is

My wash technique is just as good... And I will only charge you $5,000..... If you look at it like that I'm a great deal!!

Hype marketing at its best. He charges a high price so he must be the best. What I saw were basic techniques everyone uses. Some of the best detailers in the world are the guys that prep the Pebble Beach cars for a living. How many awards have the cars this guy has detailed won? That should be the goal. Brain Surgeons do want the most expensive or the guy with the 99.99999% success rate?

The world's best car cleaner ha? Well for one, he could use some cheaper materials and get the same results.

Around here people with half million dollar cars are cheaper than guys with twenty thousand dollar Hondas.

Amazing how much people will shell out for stuff, and then cheap out when it comes to maintenance.

(Very old vid as Paul does not use Zymol anymore)

Actually most of the Stuff Paul uses is what most professional detailers stick to as tried and true products.

P21S TAW & Wheel gel
Sonüs Clay
3M Polish
Zaino Z2 Pro sealant.

The most extravagant product Paul now uses is the Crystal Rock wax which he co developed with Swissvax.

Besides that, there really isn't more outrageous products that he uses.
Paul is just a marketing genius and knew how to grasp onto many exclusive clients and keep them.

His hourly rate is not far off from what many Pro detailers charge as well at £75 hour. Thats like an american being charged $75 an hour... which is not unheard of.

Paul also goes one step further then most of us as he has his own paint bay, applies clear bras, repairs interiors and replaces tires. He does this all himself.

This solidifies him as one guy that works on the car and can do many things correctly and with a pure sense of attention to detail.

This type of service is priceless to the people who are his clients and thus pay him for it.
