1 oz. of ONR is equal to...

Well, there's a big difference between the extremes, but at full strength you *would* get the maximum lubrication. Adding twice the amount of lube is adding twice the amount of lube, ya know?

If I take a bottle of motor oil, and dilute it by half with some non-lubricating agent (equal to water in the ONR equation), how much lubricity have I lost?

This has the potential of blowing up into a full blown arguement, and I doubt either side is gonna change their mind about it. I'll still be of the opinion that mixing it at double strength is gonna be equal to double the lubrication regardless of what others might say. :) I'm just gonna be stubborn that way this time.

Well, like I said, I'm no chemist! ;)

I don't know if you can quantify lubricity this way, but if it works for you (i.e. you got marring at full strength and don't at double strength) then stick with it! You can't argue with results.

I use a clear flip top dispensor bottle from Jeff's W. I use a stainless steel shot glass to measure 1 oz of ONR.

IMO diluting ONR is no different than diluting an APC the more the stronger.

Starts to leave a lot of streaking after drying - especially on windows - I found, if used in concentration above the recommended proportion.

Exactly what I have found as well.

I try to mix ONR double strength, so I measured two ounces using the measuring cup, which turned out to be seven capfuls.

Turns out I wasn't as close to mixing it double strength as I thought. I had been using five capfuls per two gallons of water. Seven is the magic number.

An ONR mix that's double strength at 1oz/gallon seems to work great for me. I use 4 caps (32oz bottle cap) for ~2.5 gallons or less.

I also think that more solution cleans out the wash media a bit better. I can rub the wash media thoroughly over a grit guard and it rinses significantly better than the normal 1oz/2gallon dilution.

I think Anthony O. said that 1oz/gallon was his ratio in that youtube ONR video a while back. Optimum No Rinse Demo
