Looks great! You make me wish I had a black car. They always come out the nicest after a good detail.

It is green. Says something doesn't it? :D

Yes, it says that you have a very dark green car and that I cannot tell the difference between dark colors (black & brown, dark blue & black, dark green & black) due to my mild color blindness. :D Based on that, I would like to amend my previous statement to read: Dark color paints always come out the best after a good detail.

Still, a great job though. Very shiney as I stated before. You must spend plenty of time doing this :waxing:

ahh, I know how that is. I have problems sometimes with green vs brown too. :( Or even green vs yellow depending on the shades.

Thats crazy, dark greeen, really?! You put this expensive wax on a Camry? lol J/K Looks good, wish I had enough money to buy that stuff. Although isn't applying by hand a PITA?

Pontman,

No-no! I wanted to prove that you don't have to use a lotsacoinz wax to achieve brilliant results!

My Camry is a rolling test bed for different LSPs.

I applied Finish Kare #2180 topped with Pink Wax ×2 on the horizontal surfaces, while the left side (above) wears NXT Paste ×2, TWPUG and OCW.

The other side is #21, Collinite 885 & 845, and Victoria Wax Concours.

Worthy for Click & Brag??? :o :D

Oh, well in that case if its not $1500 wax it doesn't look too good. lol j/k What is TWPUG?

TWPUG is Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss; one of the best initial look LSP on the market ever.

What you can see here is an almost two months old full detail. Just weekly washes and occasional QD. I took the pics one day after washing. Holds up quite nicely, huh?

what people fail to mention is yeah, half the field at pebble beach uses this, but if you can afford a 3 million dollar car, does $1500 for a wax really seem that absurd??????

im not bashing zymol, heck more power to them, its a pretty nice wax, but no way is it 20 times nicer than pinnacle or 100 times nicer than P21...its all a marketing ploy really, they say hey, we make a $1500 wax thats used at pebble beach, so our $10 wax thats sold at walmart should be almost as good right?!?!?!

The $10 wax you can buy at WalMart is actually made by Turtle Wax. There are a handful of products with the Zymol name on it that are made by Turtle. Some kind of licensing agreement.

I'm a strong believer that 2D pictures can't convey the actual appearance of something as subtle as the variance in LSP finishes. In other word, one can't compare Wax A with Wax B using a camera and photo. You really need to use a MkI eyeball.

Having said that - and at the risk of contradicting myself :D - the silver grey paint has an unbelievable shimmering glow that I've rarely seen. If that's how it looks in real life, I say, "Mikey stick to what you're doing". :bigups

I'm not going to read all these posts, but if you detailed, say 10 cars year round, obviously rotating as the years go by, wouldn't this be worth it for 60+ ($25 a year..) years of wax? Even more so if you were a pro detailer.. I bet they could tally thier wax bill up to $1500 a year or every 2 easily. Assuming they stay in business of course. Is there any limit on the amount of wax you can get?

Thanks Alfisti. The car actually looks shinier in person if you can believe it. As I hadn't done it all at once yet this year, I did a full detail yesterday. This at least for me consists of clay, HD-Cleanse, and wax. For good measure I put on two coats of Vintage. So, here are some more pics to wet your whiste.

Please excuse the paint chip in this picture (got it from a ding). I plan to repair it soon.

I have a local guy that does a lot of high end cars (million dollar Pebble Beach cars, etc) He swears by zymol and gets EXCELLENT RESULTS. That said, would I use it? Nope. Do I have a problem w/ him using it? Nope. He uses meguiars products for swirl remover and tops w/ these high end Zymols. Customers sure dont' complain. I was a big hater of zymol till I saw his work. I still feel their are products that rival the high end zymol's that are A LOT cheaper. But that said, as Mike Phillips has told me many times, find something you like, and use it often.

$1500 and you get lifetime refills, I guess if someone goes that route they're a customer for life. If I win the lotto tomorrow I'll let you guys know how it is!

I actually missed this post. Wow! Ok back to the subject. It seems like this subject comes up a lot. The only true way to judge any wax by its merit is to try it. I'm not saying to go out and spend 1500 bucks on wax (I will not), but on the other hand do not call it junk if you have not sampled it yet.

The only way to weigh a zymol experience is to compare it in person against a similar wax (you can use good digital photos to help evaluate, but the pics themselves will not be enough to see the entire spectrum). I was one of those naysayers of zymol at a not too distant past, until I tried one of their waxes and judged how it took to the car, as well as evaluating other waxes on the same and/or similar paint surfaces. Needless to say my opinion changed radically.

Try a zymol and see what you come up with.
