This is my first post and I am not a professional so forgive my crap photography. This is a new 08 Toyota Tacoma. First I have to say I am impressed by the paint for what is a 13K vehicle. There is really very little orange peel, full and even metallic, and fairly hard. It had a “detailing from the dealer that surprisingly left it swirl/scratch free. I didn’t inquire to as the original products used, I was just thankful that I didn’t have to do any PC work to it.
So what was important with the product used was the longevity of in a situation where I the vehicle would only get revisited with product approx once every 6 months and the upkeep it will get in between is a wash once a month. Also, I didn’t want to use a lot of expensive product per say so some of the product obtained at closeout prices/lower etc. and thus the reason for the mixing and matching.
Processes-
Washed with dawn
AIO
Z1-old school way of doing it HA. Drying time 2.5 hours
Z5-zingle coat allowed to dry overnight 12+hours
FK425 used to assit wiping off the Z5 with a very light application of FK.
Coat of eagle 1 “nano paste wax allowed drying overnight 12+ hours- too long
Used TW platinum series ultra gloss detailer to help with wipe down of the paste wax
Windows were straight Z5
All black plastic, the wholeee lot of it was two coats of 303 with complete dry time in between.
Oh yeah and there is actually what is matt black painted surface on the rear bumper that is covered with black plastic. Used 303 and paste wax on the metal.
Overall I am pleased with the outcome and happy to know there is a product that will last a while on there. I am impressed by how much reflection there is with what I ended up with and the snap to the metallic.
