08 M3 Window Trim - What Material?

This Jerez Black Pearl BMW window trim looks like this:





Sorry for the bad pics. Appears like it's been sun bleached.

I can't tell for sure if it's just plastic or Carbon Fiber. The roof is CF. I've tried every product I have including dye. Nothing brings this back anywhere near acceptable. The dye leaves a rough finish. Back to Black, Black Wow, etc. restore the sheen but don't conceal the 'splotches'.

It needs to be returned to the dealer by Thursday afternoon :(

What to do?

It's Copper looking along the bottom of the window; the thin strip along the door. Tried some metal polish on that just before I left Xmas Eve and it polished out. I really don't think that rain gutter is aluminum although it looks that way in the pics.

I'll see if my ETG gives a reading, and if it does, I owe you big time! Tho I have my doubts.
 
Reason I say that, is because my friends 08 335I is in fact brushed aluminum. I don't know if the M3 is the same though, especially having a carbon roof as an extra.
