08 Black Vette/ Clearcoat Scratch

I have an o8 Vette with Black Finish. So far I have used BlackFire Sealant,2 coats of Red Machine Glaze, and 3 coats of the new BlackFire Carnauba. Looks great, but I have a hairline scratch on rear deck about 2 1/2" long in clearcoat. The Vette's have a great hard clearcoat, and I would like to get the scratch out without dulling the area around it. I have used some Adam's Scratch Remover and Adam's Revive, which are lite cutters, finishing up with Red Machine Glaze. That hides it for a while, but is not a fix. PS I think the ClearCote products are fantastic. Can anyone help with suggestions. Thanks

If you are doing this by hand you are just temporary filling the area. You will need to machine polish it out or have it done by a pro.

If you're gonna go at it with 106ff, then you should try a purple foamed/wool pad via machine. That pad has enough bite to cut through tough C6 clear. If this scratch has any depth to it you're probably better off hooking up with a pro and letting him remove it. It would really help if you had a picture of this defect. If it's too deep (a pro would know by looking at it) then you may have to live with it. If you decide to tackle this yourself, be very careful not to go through the clear. By the way, can you feel this scratch with your fingernail or can you see the primer beneath the scratch?

Scratch goes only about halfway thru clearcoat. I think I will try some of the Poorboys Swirl removers tonite.

3M makes a product called scratch remover. It's sold in a lot of parts stores and even Walmart. I heard it works great.
