07 Tahoe gets a new lease on life

I recently started working at a dealership as their new detail manager. Its a pretty cool place, small town kind of operation. They want to make the detail department stand out from all other dealers, so they brought me on to revamp the department. There is still a lot of work and training to do there, but its coming along nicely. Teaching the guys there the PROPER way to do cars definately has its challenges, but they are learning :)

This wasn't planned as a paint correction job, but only as water spot removal. *NOTE: the shop has some stuff to remove spots, but its pretty acidic, and I don't care for the stuff, so we will NOT be using that garbage* However, once I saw how bad it was, it definately needed some paint correction. Keep in mind, this was just ONE pass with the PC. It still has some light swirls, but the transformation is pretty cool. You can see in the pics how someone had already hacked up the front fenders with a rotary and wool pad. Thankfully it cleaned up nicely. This lady could not believe the transformation. She was only expecting the waterspots removed. She let a stream of profanities go when I pulled it into the service driveway and she saw it. You know, profanity in a good way lol. Probably one of the coolest reactions I've received!

Enjoy :)

I think it came out pretty good for only having 5 hours on it!

I'm glad that there's at least one dealership that is willing to hire true professionals ... great work btw!!

I am too. Hopefully you will be bringing your new boss alot of business; with work like that I bet you will!

wooo hoooo. looks like i might have to go work at that dealership if i move back to cali.

That is the best work i have yet to see that was performed by a dealership. Excellent job.

Looks great!

So the dealership is willing to let you work on them as long as needed? Never seen one that didn't want the car done like yesterday. :D

They want to measure my "efficiency" to see how long each job takes so they can figure prices accordingly. Right now they are cool with whatever time it takes, but I can see they will want to speed things up asap. lol. That will be easier to do once the rest of my guys are trained to AUTOPIAN standards! :getdown

I'd love to hire an Autopian level detailer! Let me know if you do come back. Thanks.
