'07 Shelby GT500 detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

I've detailed more Mustangs than I could count but this beautiful black beast was the first GT500 I've laid hands to. It's a stone stock '07 showing just 1,700 on the odo. Regardless of what you may think of Mr. $helby and his recent "politics" the GT500 is an awesome piece of American muscle!! Fit and finish is light years above the Mustangs of even just a few years ago with the car having a very upscale feel to it. The dash pad is covered in leather and the entire interior as a whole is tasteful and a subtle enhancement over a base GT. Without knowing what it is one would never guess that there is a fire breathing 500hp supercharged 5.4L under the hood. A gorgeous car that I would absolutely love to have parked in my driveway (of course mine would have a Kenne Bell installed ;) )!!

As stated above this car showed very few miles on the odo even though it was built in February of '07. It is female owned and had not been touched since delivery. The paint showed light to moderate marring with some rotary burn and did have some bonded contaminants. Below is a description of process and products used for this detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Clay Magic clay bar (grey) using Meg's #34 as a lube

Polish with Optimum Polish using a LC white pad and my PC set a 5-6

Polish/Glaze with ClearKote's Vanilla Moose using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5-6

Seal with ClearKote's Carnauba Moose by hand with a foam pad

Looks good. I've got a customer w/ the same exact car, but doesn't want to use any type of buffer on it :( Instead he lets his cat sit on it. Go figure?

great detail, looks great for the most part. however i think you mihgt have left some holograms

I assure you...they are not holograms. That is nothing more than my Cannon A95 in auto mode being completely flustered by a direct sun shot.

+1 i think i saw a hologram, sorry to say. other than that the car looks beautiful, you did a really good job with that black...when i saw the firs picture i even said out loud "ho-lee-****"

Nice job Mike. Those cars are sick. I was at Team Ford the other day and they wanted 60K for one. I think their "market adjustment" of 20k is a little steep. but I guess they're getting it.

Thanks all!

Wade...no doubt. She paid MSRP + 15K for this one...insanity.

I forgot to add these pics to my "click and brag".....

Mike! Dude! I was just going to give a holler about our boys in blue! GO G-MEN! I was in the city for the game and it was incredible. Afterwards people were hanging out of apartment windows screaming. Cars were whizzing by with guys hanging out hooting and hollering. What a game! WHAT A GAME! Super Bowl champs. Ain't nobody taking that away from them.

Yeah Mike, you left your typical holograms all over the car  We all know that Optimum Polish + Vanilla Moose via a PC leaves holograms :rofl .......... ;)

Sick work on a sick car!

looks good!

Im always confused about the newer shelbys. Did this car come out of the shelby workshop or was it factory made?
It's a Ford Vehicle. It is a collaboration between SVT and Shelby. It's made at Ford's plant in Flat Rock. Shelby doesn't have the production capacity to produce 10,000 Shelby GT500's per year along with the rest of his own lineup.

I find it funny they call this car 'rare', but yet they plan to make/sell 10,000 per year?

It is a great looking car, tho! Nice job! I've had the same issue before with the A95 and direct sun. I dont know if this is the case with all point'n'clicks, or just Canon's , or even just the A95...but Ive had similar results, holograms where there definitely weren't any.

I happend to park next to, Yes, I said park next to one in the parking lot where I work...awesome cars but can't for the life of me wonder why someone would park a $60k+ (I assume?) car in a public parking lot not out of the furthest spot possible...this one could have used your handy work too Mike. Nice job on this black beauty.

Looks incredible Mike!

That is one sweet looking Stang.

I can tell by the picture that it is not a hologram. Some cameras will do that. Could it be that the paint is just a little oily from the Carnauba Moose? It almost looks that way.

Anyways, killer job on the detail!!!!!
