damn that was horrific! :wall bob very nice! your work is outstanding as always! is that a flex rotary or orbital you use? how do you like it? there intriging me more and more! can you tell me some honest reveiw on it?

Barry, I have both a rotary and DA models of the Flex. I have three rotary buffers the Flex, Dewalt and Metabo and I use the Flex quite a bit due to the light weight and size configuration(great for tight spots) and the Dewalt is for power buffing because of the torque and I like the Metabo except for the trigger(and the fact it has shut down on me due to heat) so it is a back up buffer.

The Flex DA is great as well for lots of correction work, finish polishing and applying LSP sealants on the cars finish except for really tight spots. Hope this answers the questions you had.

Excellent work, Bob! I suspect that the swirls were caused by the factory, like on the 599's I've done... what a shame, huh? Were those really sanding scratches??? The 3 599's I've done (so far...) have only been Rambo'd with a wool pad and some heavy-cut polish... sanding marks and pigtails would be an all-time low for the boys in Maranello... That ceramic paint's a major PITA isn't it :D? I think I spent 22 hours on the first 599 I did, but I only put leather conditioner on the interior, nothing else on the inside.

Beautiful work as always Bob! It's a good thing that customer found you to bring out the full potential of his/her car. Now it finally looks as it was intended to.

Shoddy work by the manufacturers and dealers keep us in business! :)

The Flex I am using is a rotary L3403 LG which weighs in just under 5lbs I think and you can get the best deal on this from Phil @ DD imo, the backing plate is a GI 3inch set up(gloss-it) which I think is great because of the cushioning and how easy it is to thread onto the buffer as I just hold the backing plate onto the buffer and feather the trigger and it tightens down pronto so I am not screwing the backing plate on and off with my wrist which over the course of a correction wears on a brotha.

To answer Jesse(Apollo from Hungary NOT Canada lol) yes it was probably "late July" when the car was made as we know the whole country goes on "holiday" for a month or so, probably the same thing as a American car built on a Friday....... the pigtails were horrific:shockedand were on almost every body panel, today is the "Sharkwerks" Porsche RS and I take care of this car pretty regularly so I deserve a break as almost EVERY car I have done lately has needed a restoration detail and I am beat up from it.

To answer Pat300zx am building a shop now and it is almost done, but I will still offer mobile for some clients and cars but the hard corrections are coming to the shop as I will have a lift, light!!!! and most importantly a BATHROOM I can use ANYTIME I want, here is a few pre-build out pics

Great recovery! It's such a shame to a fine automobile in that condition. Nice shop too!

Impressive as always Bob, I remember how hard the clear was on the red 599 panel at SEMA... I could only imagine the frustration to correct an entire car with the same clear in such terrible condition.

Interior is off the charts style too!

Oh very nice work as usual. Your shop looks great.

Feel free to post more pics of it as it continues to be improved!
