Great choice on the 6-speed too. I think bmw really hurt themselves by not offering it to begin with. Both among their customers and their pocketbooks.
I did the BMW M driving school in SC and had extensive seat time in Z4M, M5, and M6.
To tell you the truth the M5 was the most fun to drive out of the bunch. The active seat bolsters in the M5 really hold you still in the tight corners and make the driving experience much more fun.
BMW can keep the SMG, it is junk. The lag between shifts is annoying and the fact that US cars don't have the fully active launch control takes all the fun out of the driving experience.
I will take a 6 speed over the SMG any day.
