07 Black CTS Sport Souveran'd up.....

If only every dealership had an autopian running their recon derpartment :p Work has been really slow lately so I was bored today and had to keep myself busy. I figured I'd bring in this 07 CTS sport and give the exterior a full treatment. I work for a Pontiac/Cadillac/GMC/Buick dealer and most all of our cars come full of swirls and usually have a good scratch or two right off the transport truck...gotta love that GM quality :angry Anyways, I was planning on washing the car and giving it a full swirl removal. I washed the vehicle with my usual 2 bucket wash method with a sheepskin mitt, and to my suprise....NO swirls!!! Very rarely do I see brand new GM paint look "like new". Anyway, here are the pics and process:

Wash w/ sheepskin mitt and two bucket method

Clay was not needed(once again, big suprise)

Menzerna FTG w/ black LC finishing pad via PC speed 4.5

1 coat Souveran paste hand applied

tires/wheels dressed

I really love Souveran on black, and it is nice to work at a dealer that actually appreciates my level of work, they can see the difference. Not all the cars get treatment like this, but worst case scenario they at least get a shot of OCW before they go out the door. Used cars that I don't have time to do full swirl removal on get Menzera Acrylic Jacket w/ the PC. I also use liquid souveran for light colors and have been experimenting w/ Blackfire Wet Diamond with excellent results. Too bad not all dealers had people like us running their wash bays...... :waxing:

Very Nice. Black looks SO GOOD when done right, like you have here. I've seen a few, 2 or 3 ever, CTS-V, what are they, they have a "Corvette type" checkered flag fender emblem on them ?? Great job, great pics.

The grille and the spoiler are DIO's, right? MechWarrior, the CTS-V has a Corvette flag because it has a Corvette engine...all 400 or so HP worth.

Paint looks really good! Love those new STS's, shows GM can make cool cars. :)

Scott...that's a CTS...I know they are hard to tell apart, but the STS is 2" longer, $10K more expensive, and not as good looking...

PS The above was a tongue-in-cheek comment, but I know some of you are sticklers for accuracy, so the STS is actually 6" longer, 2" wider, and 1" taller than a CTS.

Some buyer will be very lucky on that one.

Guys its not a corvette flag, its the "V-flag" for caddies high-performance line:

Setec, Thanks for the reply & info. I can only imagine the cost, ...& the THRILL that goes with it of a 400+ HP 'Vette motor in a mid-size Caddy platform... = FUN !!! Probably Auto. only, correct ?

Heck, Mech, you can just go to the Caddy website, but the CTS-V goes for about $50K, and I think it's (6-speed) manual only. My apologies to gmblack3a for misidentifying the V flags as 'Vette flags.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

The wheels look like a PITA to keep clean, but it has to be one of the better designs out there OEM.

:kewlpics

Looks excellent.

I love the progress that car has made with the grille, rear lip spoiler, wheels, and so on.

Agreed. I am in shameful love with Cadillac's latest efforts. I;m only 29, but I want a Caddy for my next car. The CTS, CTS-V, and the two door look so Grrrrrrrrrr! My wife keeps talking me back to Audi (along with my sales guy), but I don't know. Left unsupervised......... :o

Nope, 6-speed stick. Hard to imagine in a Caddy, but nice to see they made the right choice, IMO.

Strauss, did the dealership have the Souveran (can't imagine that) or did you actually use your own stash on this?

Nope, I took one for the team on that one and pulled it out of my own stash. Talk about dedication....hahaha
