'06 Ferrari F430 detail (56K = not a chance)

Amazing job - interesting that you found the Ferrari paint hard; all the F-cars I've done have been really soft. I wonder if the '06's are different. Regardless, that car looks incredible, you did outstanding work on it.

Outstanding job on a fabulous car!!

Just wondering, how many pads did you go through the whole detail? I recently used OC and OP on a car (each with 1 pass over entire vehicle),and i found my pads gunked up fairly quickly. I used two LC orange with the OC and two LC white with the OP.

Jesus H Christ! :wow:  Now THAT's RED!

Now this was my first choice prior to the Porsche, but just could not pull the trigger on the final amount! Nice color combo too!

I've always loved the look of Souveran on red. I found that when I used the older Zaino that had more of the "plastic" steril look and topped it with Souveran, the effect was insane! Very bright, but with deep and wet looking at one angle, the other, a more muted Zaino, but also deep.

Man, that finish was a mess! You did a superb job!!! :2thumbs:

Great write-up and pics!!!

Regards,

Deanski

:thx for all the very kind words!!!!

Bryan and Picus I have detailed a few mid/late 90's Ferrari's and a couple Y2K+ Maserati's and indeed in both instances the paint was very soft. This '06 model was hard as could be though. I don't have any other late model Ferrari to A - B it with but hopefully that will change. ;)

Neo62381 the exhaust pipes are covered with a finish that I could best compare to a spray on truck liner. There is no way to polish them.

Mr.Dan I used one cutting and one polishing pad each. I kick out my pad with a brush after each panel and usually reactivate the product with a spritz of water on the pad before starting the next section. By the end of this detail the orange pad was just about loaded up but the white pad was good to go.

Thanks. So only one pad each for the entire car. Maybe i'm using too much product.

Very cool. I have an '06 430 next week and now I'm all concerned it'll be rock hard. :D

Cheers to an excellent job once again.

Mike we need to talk, I have a F430 detail coming up on the 17th. I would love to talk to you and find out the ins and outs of the detail so I can achieve what you have done.
