Ouch! What does that SUV do in 0-60mph?



I like Firebirds a lot and often compliment Mike's Lola but let's be honest here. Even the new Cadillacs leave a lot to be desired in the interior fit and finish.

Heheh, maybe you need some memory refreshment about just how awful the 80's F-body dashes were? There were some neat cars, the Turbo T/A, and I really liked the original Firehawks (they were a used car steal too). But I just can never get past the interior. The dash cluster and such was just terrible.



Actually, back in August I got to see some TTA's, a Syclone, and some Typhoons in person, and they all have that sort of round sunken gauge look. I think they are so cool, right up until I look inside...



I don't see the problem with the Trailblazer though? It's not amazing or anything, but I don't see what's wrong with it? My mom has a non-SS and it's alright. It's a truck afterall. The only thing that bugged me about it was the gearshift lever has no gear display next to it, you have to look at the dash to see what gear you are putting it in.

Yeah, I don't really either. But it's nice to be able to if you wanted. Since it's not my car, I generally look at it because I'm not familiar with it. So it's weird to look down and see nothing...

In person, though, it is obvious at least their material choice is moving in the right direction.
 
Very nice work. I like thr truck too! Thats the first time I've seen it. GM is starting to build with tighter tolerances from what Ive read. The new Caddy Escalade is suppose to be something else with some super tight fit and trim in the interior and exterior.
 
For some reason, I'm surprised it doesn't have dual exhaust. The sides look a bit plain to me without any trim or body lines.



But enough of my design complaints...the detail looks terrific. Those wheels look great, and IMO are well suited to that vehicle.

It is getting better but for the price it doesn't hold a candle to Lexus, BMW or Benz for an SUV interior.



The key for GM is to design themselves out of the crisis and manage some silly costs like the stupid and expensive "Job Bank". The new Camaro concept is an example of where they have the skills to put passion in the product.

My brother has an 01 X5 4.4, it handles better then some (if not more) cars out there. Great brakes of course. I'm sure its priced about the same as a new Escalade.



The X5 is very small interior wise for a SUV. I'd rather drive the X5 myself.

The SRX would be more on-par with the X5 than an Escalade.
 
Not bad looking, much better than the horrid regular trailblazers that look way too stretched. I do notice a typical GM feature - the single exhaust tip! What is up with that?? On a high powered V8?



Bet that thing would respond nicely to a ProCharger or MagnaCharger!!
