Client acquired this car used. Client spent the day on a new track most of it raining. Exterior was quite dirty and during the wash I realized that the paint was quite contaminated. After drying paint showed scratches and marring from automated car washing. Steps are as follows.



Wash

Clay of whole vehicle including jambs, under spoiler etc.

Wash

PC via orange pad with Poorboy's SSR1

PC via finishing pad with Poorboy's Polish

Poorboy's EX-P Sealant by hand



Here are some pics, it's hard to see the scratches and contaminants such as rail dust on the yellow paint. Contaminants can be seen well in the hood shot. Before pics only taken after first wash. Before pics car doesn't have tint, after pics car has been tinted.

Nice work. It's hard for me to get yellow looking wet like that, and you did a great job with it. Good lookin' car too.
 
Hm... The befores and afters of the hood look equally perfect... It must be pretty well maintained :) Maybe a closer up lighting would show the defects before. The hood looks very sharp and stunning. Something about the headlights just makes it look so... good.



For the wheels, you may want to put some tire dressing on there. That will definitely highlight the car very nicely.



I love that yellow color, really makes the car stand out. GREAT JOB!

The second hood pic closeup shows the contaminants. They were there but weren't major maybe 20min to clay the whole hood. I usually dress the tires on client vehicles. In this case it was raining outside so i opted not to put any on.

I'm not going to lie to you, I really don't see much change. That isn't to say that you didn't do a great job, it's that it looked nearly perfect to start with :)
 
Looks Beautiful! BTW, the best way to show defects with lighting is using the 500-1000 watt halogen light stand, hand held led lights, or using the camera flash. That spoiler looks fun to detail! lol
 
Love the car, but the pics don't really show much difference before and after. Exhaust pipes need polish.

I have used tire dressing for years but I personally don't like it. I never put dressing on my own tires. I think if the tires are clean and they are low profile there is no need for dressing unless it is a show situation. Every car in a show situation no matter what kind of tires it has needs dressing.



The film used was LLumar ATR 35%.

Good problem to have as a detailer, believe me. That is why I don't do a lot of before and afters, most of the cars I do aren't trashed.



The car looks excellent to me and the wheel/brake detailing is superb. :)

I see he also has the PCCB (Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes) like I have on my C2S. Only problem is the Gen 1 have issues cracking, and other problems so be careful if they are warm/hot. The new Gen-2 have no problems as of date. The Gen-2 are on my car as all 997's can get them. Big $$ option, but worth it!

What did you use on the interior leather? I find "P" car leather and interior have a very unique smell.

Yup this is a beautiful car. Client has driven this car in the rain once so far and said it pretty much dries itself. He has also bought a car cover for storage this winter.



I used Lexol on the leather, just a small amount. Porsche leather is of such high quality anyways and doesn't crack and wear very easily compared to lets say GM leather.

OH NO!! NOT LEXOL! :soscared: Please, don't use Lexol on "P" car leather! Try 1Z Lederpfledge or try the SONUS leather cleaner and conditioner. Zaino Z10 is great as well and has a very high leather smell.



Lexol is fine for around the house or in the stables. It doesn't belong on car leather. FOr one thing, it smells like goat pee. Second, use too much and if it's in the sun, you'll get a film on the inside windows and dash from it "off-gassing" you could say.
