05 Mustang

I am sorry for the late post but I finally got a picture with more to follow. I detailed a 05 mustang for an engineering friend of mine. He took it to a car show in Pittsburg. Anyways sorry for the late post

What did you use? it looks incredibly wet. Those new GT's are growing on me...how much HP do they have again?

This was a testing vehicle that came off the line. It was covered in bugs along the front. I washed with carwash shampoo from my local detail shop. I had to soak the front end with a towel to soften the bugs up then clayed the horizontal surfaces. Went over the car with Ardex fine cut cleaner then Ardex gold yellow wax.

A few comments and a question:

1. Great job on the detail, it does look wet, I would figure the new paint has something to do with it!! :up

2. The car looks okay style wise--not as bad as I thought but not as good as the concept. Still too retro for my tastes--its not innovative enough.

3. I am SURE the aftermarket will offer a "grille light" delete kit.

4. It needs at least 18's if not 19's

5. How did this dude get one since they are not supposed to hit showrooms until 9/29?

He is the testing engineer for the ford mustang group. If you notice on one of the pictures you can see the test number no the upper left hand corner.

300...with the '06 Cobra I believe using the current 4.6L blown 4V setup good for 390 (wink wink).

The 390 is as accurate a # as were the factory #'s for the '69 Z28.

Actually they put out more than that from what the cobra engineer has told me. But as for the cobra WOW I got to drive one and its a kick in the butt. Great acceleration

I kinda like the retro front end....but not as much as I thought I would.

I'm gonna agree with blackcaraddict about the aftermarket grill light delete kit. Definately not diggin' the grill lights.

But you got the paint looking tight. :xyxthumbs

Nice job,

oh cool. yeah, i'm not diggin' the retro style, prefer the '04 modern, muscular look. ;)

but nice job, it looks great. i'm glad that ford changed the front bumper from the concept one, it reminded me of a dodge ram truck. :o the grille lights.....ah it's part of the retro theme and look okay to me.

The current (03/04) cobra puts out 390hp and uses a blown 4v 4.6. The '07 cobra is expected to put out more (no official numbers yet), and I've heard rumors they're gonna use a 5.4.

Those are the current Mach I production wheels. The wheels for the 2005 GT should be 17" to 18".

actually those are the 'bullit' wheels you can get on a 2004 Mustang GT. the '04 Mach1 wheels look more like the old Magnum 500's. from MM & FF's preview, 18" wheels will be an option later on in the year.
