First up the parents' new car - 05 Vauxhall Meriva 1.4 16v Life in the same shade of silver as my Astra. They picked it up Friday and is has 76 miles now on the clock. They left it with me today having declined the £300 lifetime protection treatment offered by the garage...

Process;

Washed with Profinish Aqua Flow shampoo

Clayed with Sonus/Final Detail

PB PWC

PB EX-P (Carlack dried too fast to remove properly!)

OCW to all exterior paint, trim & glass

Z16 to tyres

Interior - nothing needed as car brand new so cleaned interior glass/door shuts only (Megs pro glass cleaner & OCW to shuts)

Got to say hats off to the dealer - not a single swirl, before, during or after clay stage - nothing, nada! Bit of tyre dressing sling up sides but that's being really picky....

Plus my dad's gone home with a sheepskin mitt, WW dry towel, glass MF & applicator, bottle of glass cleaner & shampoo - I'll get him to keep it looking good I swear!!!

Next up my own daily driver. Got it new January 05 and she'd up to 21,000 miles without ANY machine buffing at all and the inevitable swirling & light marring appearing (as a few guys here have seen first hand). Decided to hit her with the PC yesterday.

Process;

Wash with Profinish Aqua Flow shampoo

No clay needed - paint still smooth (tribute to autopian maintenance I guess!)

SSR2.5 via DAS green

EX-P via DAS blue

OCW x 2 by hand

Tyres Z16 x 2

Wheels Carlack 68 by hand

Glass inside/out with Meguiars Pro Glas Cleaner

And last my new arrival - may I introduce you all to Enzo Sammy (in tribute to the greatest name in motoring and the greatest all round entertainer - plus he follows me round - "my shadow and me") :grinno:

9 weeks old and huge fun - getting that Springer bounce already!

Looks good Andy :up I do not recall seeing that car before, half super-mini half people carrier?

AFAIK Lowe, it's based on a Corsa platform but is as high as a Zafira and slightly shorter than my Astra. Has "Flex 5" setaing which has stumped the old man already :D Comes with A/C, CD, 4 airbags etc etc and is not a bad little car at all

Plus it cost them very much the right side of £9k OTR which IMHO is a truly excellent deal all round.

Great work Andy. Nice to see you converted your dad, mine gets me to do his vehicles for him all the time, he wont take the products!

What do you use on the new addition? Woolite?!?

Andy,

What about covering the pillars/window frames with black foil? This would create a more uniform window area and would help reduce the visual height of the Meriva.

Cheers gents,

Wooflite :grinno:

Bence, my parents were offered the next model up with privacy glass, alloys and various other toys but all they want a reliable, safe & economical car so most toys are irrelevant to them TBH

Andy, I didn't thought of toys, or window tint, just a few pieces of black decoration to unify the visually disturbing, body coloured pillars/door/window frames.

I touched up your pic:
