05' MCS, '06 G35 Coupe

Terrific job on both, the Mini's paint is soaking wet! :up

I agree about the metallic Nissan paints, very, very hard-even the '04s. I have a regular with a Titan and in the two years since he bought it, I have yet to polish it. Just now is it developing very faint halo swirls. Probably going to polish it out early next year once hunting season is over.

Excellent work, I have a mate into mini's bigtime, you did awesome on that gocart! One of his mates has the same colour/similar wheels that I'd love to have a go at, I'll have to keep AJ in mind! Was it the Fk 108 you used on the black trim that runs along the bottom? That can be a PIA to clean/maintain. Its also funny that you found the hatch to be the most contaminated, I've experienced the same. Nice tyres on it too!

Thanks! I did use the FK108 on all the exterior trim. It makes it look nice. The tires have to be sticky at a 200 tread wear rating!

Greg - Thanks for the compliments. I love clean wheels. It makes the car look so much better.

Mark - Thanks for posting the link. That is what I am using. Also, there was a ton of tar inside the wheels. I told her I will take them off in the spring to completely clean and seal them. The chunks were so big even tarminator would have taken forever when I cannot fit my hands inside to scrub.

Fobia - The link posted above is the tool I have. I bought two of the Megs kits when Sam's Club had a deal a few months back.

Scott - Thanks for the heads up on all Nissan paints. I don't get many. Also, thanks for the AJ application tips. It's getting easier to use everytime I try it. Do you use it on glass?

Are you going to use an electric or kerosene or propane heater? I have an electric now, but with the halogen lights and all the other crap I run at the same time I have tripped the circuit breaker a few times. Im looking at getting a nice kerosene heater and use the "non-kerosene smelling" fluid.

Chris, I didn't even think of tripping the breaker. Good point, especially since I don't know where it is since I live in an apartment. I was planning on electric just to warm it up before I start polishing. I.E. during QEW washes, claying, taping, and whenever I am not using the halogens and the buffer. My garage is fairly well insulated. I have a few air leaks to seal still.

What heaters are you looking at? Also, you can use denatured alcohol for fuel that doesn't smell.
