05' Denali..disaster...!!

I got this 05' Denali in friday.. It had been in the shop several times for collision repair and once washed, the entire front end revealed more sanding scratches and overspray than I knew what to do with (Im not sure what product they covered them up with)..



The process was the same as the viper.. overspray removal with clay and solvent, 3M PI products with rotary for buff and polish stages, Meg's Hi Tech yellow upon completion. Also the 24 inch rims where covered with water spots, overspray and other contamnants which came off with clay and where finished with Meg's final prep...



Pics where taken with my cell phone..again. I really need to bring my digital camera with me, I couldnt get any pics to show the horrid sanding scratches...

Indeed.. I must have took 30 pics of the paint before, all I get out of it is a flat black pic.. There might have been one okay shot of the overspray which I will post, I think it was primer, needed to be taken off with a strong solvent...the clay wouldnt even touch it.

As you can somewhat tell from the before pics, they where covered in overspray and some hefty water spots. I have never used clay on wheels before, but while removing the overspray with it, I noticed that all the water spots where dissapearing at the same time with little effort...



Each week I find that clay helps me do something I never thought of using it on...

I only use claymagic 2 much easier cause it is OTC
 
Looks really good in the afters to me, despite less than ideal light. :up



I've done a couple cars with such heavy overspray that clay wouldn't remove. Clearkote's Compound and a Meguiars burgandy cutting pad did the trick.
