1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

Let me first truly apologize for the abysmal quality of these photos. In typical weatherman fashion those hacks blew today's forcast big time. The ice storm we are supposed to be getting here in Atlanta tomorrow was forcast to begin late tonight...well...it showed up at about 3:00 pm this afternoon!! I had to pull the vehicle into the client's shop to finish it off and the lighting was not so hot and my camera skillz are not too great when I have to hold still for long exposures. My bad. The client was very pleased with my work so I will eventually get this vehicle again in better light for better pics.

The car belongs to the owner of a local import tuner shop, Twisted Tuning (www.twistedtuning.net), here in Marietta. I got hooked up with them when I was detailing their neighbor's Supra (my friend who owns the dyno) last week. Their shop is FULL of all kinds of imports running ungodly amounts of boost. I hope to be detailing a few of them in the very near future.

The car...well...that needs no introduction. Anytime the Germans decide to place a V8 and a manual transmission in one of their cars...be it a Porsche 928, a BMW 645 or this Audi...just color me purple!! There is something so right with the tight feel of Teutonic car assembly combined with the burble of those 8 cylinders. ;) This car has about 9K on the odo and is still stock except for a B&B Triflow cat back exhaust (which sounds oh so sweet). The owner is eventually going to put a supercharger on her!!

Again, I truly apologize for the terrible pics. It is such a cool car that I had to post them anyway.

Enjoy,

Mike

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Polish with Klasse AIO using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with P21s by hand with a foam applicator x2. The reason I applied two coats was because just as I had finished up the first coat the ice started to fall. I pulled the car into their shop, dried it off and then applied the second coat.

Meg's Hot shine on the blurry tires, AIO on the blurry rims and ClearKote's VM on the blurry glass.

Beautiful car!:up That V8 sounds so awesome w/stock exhaust, I'd love to hear it with that B&B unit. Do you find VM to work better on glass than AIO? I'll have to try it.

Camera having trouble focusing because of the gloss?

Nice work. I hate it when cameras can't focus. I'm sure it looks very good in the flesh.

Simply stunning! I can clearly see the reflection of the white Supra in the trunk!

I thought the S4 was a 4 cyl biturbo?

Looks great Mike. :xyxthumbs

I think the ice storm is looking ugly. I'm worried about the powerlines going down...:(

That car would make the pain from the loss of my SS go away quick. Great job too!!! Looks awesome.

WOW! Now I have to go work on my Black 2003 A4. It would be a miracle if mine looked half as good. :bow

I'm thinking the same thing, except mine's red. I've been putting it off 'cause of things Accumulator has said regarding hard Audi clearcoat. Pics are inspiring though!

THANK YOU all for the very kind words!! :xyxthumbs Sorry again for the blurinksi pics. :(

This is the first year a V8 is in the S4. All the previous model years were biturbo 6 cylinders.

gearhead I've never tried AIO on glass...I'll have to give that a shot.

This car had very few swirls to begin with and that is why I went with the AIO instead of a more aggressive polish. It took almost a solid two hours of just polishing but I was quite pleased with the end results.

While the Audi clear indeed seems hard I still think one of the hardest clearcoats to polish out is the clear GM uses on the Corvette.
