1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!

One word describes this car to me....YUMMY !!! The C5 Corvette has always been a favorite of mine and to me this 04 Z06 is the pinnacle (and last model year) of the 5th generation Corvette line. This car is brand spanking new (135 miles on the odometer) and is just drop dead gorgeous. I am one of those guys that usually has a small section of his garage filled with aftermarket parts BEFORE I even bring a vehicle home...this is one of those rare cars that I simply would not touch. As delivered its powerful (mid 12's in the 1320), just flat out sexy (look at that thing!!) and as smooth as silk to drive. Chevy hit a home run with this car and I can only hope that the C6 fills its shoes. Having seen a C6 in person at a car show this spring I must admit that I like the lines of the C5 better...but maybe in time the new design will grow on me.

Enough of the chit chat!!:D Here's the stuff us Autopian's want to know about (the detail):

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Pinnacle's Poly clay bar and Clay Lubricant

Glaze with Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion by hand with a microfiber applicator

Seal with Pinnacle's Paste Glaz (x2) by hand with a foam applicator. The second coat was applied approximately 12 hours after the first coat.

Meg's NXT on the rims and ClearKote's Vanilla Moose on all exterior glass.

Enjoy (I know I did),

Mike

Man that IS beautiful! So no swirl package thrown in by the dealer? Great work and write-up! Thanks!

i love those cars.... really nice... but yeah, what u said about the new c6, i dont think i like it as much, but i bet it will grow on me later on... just like when the bmw redesigned the 7 and 5 series... i was like wtf are they doing... but now i think they look cool (different) well see about the vette... good job on it

I noticed that you stepped down to a little more manageable 405 hp car from the 406 hp beast that the Trans Am was. ;)

Enjoy the car. It's beautiful.

The Trans Am put 406 to the wheels. That's like 470-480hp at the engine compared to the Z06's 405. :D

Very nice Vette. I'll eventually be in a C5 some day, too. I'm hoping the release of the C6 lowers the prices of used C5s big time so I can pick one up cheap.

I agree with everything you said, except that I will change your mind(about leaving the car alone) with a modded out C5. If you don't go to far with mods, you can actually improve on it IMO. I bought the aftermarket wheels for the car, before I bought the actual car. The 2nd part of your post I might be biased on, but I still prefer my C5 over the C6, simply because of the popup lights and I just think it looks sexier. Don't get me wrong I would take a C6 if someone gave it to me, but I'm glad I have my C5... GRT detail job BTW... :xyxthumbs

Very nice work ! and what more can be said of a great car ! :xyxthumbs

I've got about 6 coats of Pinnacle Paste Glaz on my 2004 silver Maxima. I prepped with Megs speed glaze. Looks pretty good. i was surprised this morning when i used Mother's Showtime detailer over the Pinnacle. I was avoiding using a detailer for fear of changing the look/effect of the pure Pinnacle for the last couple of weeks. But i decided to give in and give Showtime a try. It rewally enhanced the sdihne and looks awesome of the Paste Glaz. A nice surprise. :xyxthumbs

Anyways, like i said great work on the Vette.

Bob

THANK YOU all for the very kind words!!

beastie tailwind is correct 1 Clean WS6 has 406hp at the wheels so that is indeed 470's at the crank. I expect the Z06 to dyno in the 350 range which would equal 405 at the crank. The big difference in these two cars (besides aerodynamics) is weight...the Z06 weighs a touch over 3100lbs while my WS6 weighs close to 3600lbs. You can still see her (the WS6) in pic #3 under her cover and sleeping  ...I will never part with that car....to many damn hours waxing and polishing her to let someone else enjoy.

....and yes....I DO have the coolest wife on the face of the planet.:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
