'04 Volkswagon R32 detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

I had the pleasure of detailing this sweet little VeeDub this weekend. It has without a doubt one of the sweetest sounding factory exhaust systems I have ever heard. The build quality really is something else too...but I guess I should expect that from the Germans!! I'm not sure what this particular color blue is called but it is a truly stunning hue in person. Very bright and loaded with metallic flake.

This particular R32 is an '04 model with a tad over 17K on the odo. It has seen Road Atlanta a few times as its owner loves to track his cars. It is a garaged, second vehicle but had not been waxed in over two years. The marring was moderate but the car was otherwise in very well kept condition. Below is a description of the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg's NXT shampoo

Polish with Optimum Compound using a LC orange pad and my PC set at 5-6. One or two spots on the car needed this step x's 2.

Polish with Optimum Polish using a LC white pad and my PC set at 5-6.

Polish with ClearKote's VM using a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5-6.

Glaze with ClearKote's RMG using a Meg's 9006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with Meg's #16 by hand with a foam pad.

All exterior glass has VM, textured exterior plastic trim has Meg's #40, rims have PB's Wheel Sealant and the tires have Z-16 x's 3.

Mike, Great work on the Vdub. Paint and interior look excellent. Wheels/tires look wonderful. Does he track with those wheels or have another set?

Yes I think we all missed a good STD post. :2thumbs:

WOW! Great job on the detail! I am looking to buy one of those someday! They do have the best sounding exhaust system for any stock system. Very raspy and threatning...like a bunch of angry wasps! I am sure it looks better in person than those pics! Great job!

That interior is pretty similar to the Wife's '03.5 NB TS. I think those seats are genuine Recaro though, are they not? That passenger from seat pad looks to be different than the driver's?

How are you finding the PB's Leather Stuff as a 1-step? The appearance looks great in your shots. Other than the obvious different scent, does it perform (on leather) significantly differently than NL?

While I really like the looks of those wheels, aren't they a PITA to clean and polish? The Wife's has the Delta Xs which are a lot easier to deal with.

:thx all for the kind words!!

Bryan he tracks the car as it sits. He said it takes about two weeks of city driving to uncup the shoulders of the tires after a track session.

Mr. Clean I believe they are Konig racing seats. PB's Leather Stuff is a great one step on lightly soiled leather...heavier soiling requires a dedicated cleaning step.

I remember someone having that car my freshman year. That's a real sweet ride and I gotta agree with you those seats are comfortable but supportive.

Anyways, great job on the detail.
