04 Subaru WRX Wagon

Finally got around to removing swirls from the winter on my black WRX. Used my new PC for the second time with Menzerna intensive polish. I tried final polish and wasn't happy with the results. Honestly didn't see any hazing from the intensive, so I just did the Klasse twins over it. Cleaned up the swirls very well. Still some left though. The PC definitely made it possible, but I'm still in the learning curve for sure. Here are the shots...

Rt side is done with IP, left side is untouched.

Pretty nice shot of the Java Black Pearl.

And an outdoors shot. I was exhausted and didn't have much creativity for pics when I was done.

Nice work. I will post some 'after' pics of my Impreza in my thread - what luck to not only have someone use the same product, but on a similar car! Looks great, btw. Which pads did you use? And did you not like the FP, or did you just not feel the need for it?

You getting summer rubber? Made a huge difference for the handling in my car. The RE92s are alright, but I would never go back after dedicated winters and summers (which go on tomorrow :D ).

Nice pics, and a great choice of cars. I love my 2002 Platinum silver WRX wagon also.

The biggest problem that you're going to run into with Subaru's Java Black Pearl is not swirl marks. It's paint chipping.

Paint chips. Literally dozens of them in as little as 12k miles. My friend has a black WRX that's pitted with paint chips on the leading edge of the hood and front bumper. It really looks terrible on black due to white waxy residue in the chips. It's so bad that Road & Track even commented on them on their WRX long term testing wrap-up a few months ago.

My advice? Get a clear bra paint film installed as soon as possible. I now have my Stongard film on my WRX for nearly over three years...No paint chips.

I did the FP on half of the roof and then I saw some very fine haze or swirls or something that wasn't on the rest of the car. Went over the whole roof with AIO and it all looked the same. Figured why bother with another step an over an hour when I can't see any benefit?

Yeah, I don't like these tires at all. They are really bad in the snow. Didn't bother me much in the summer, so I'll take them to this fall, then get a good snow-oriented all season and hopefully next spring get some 17s and tires.

I've read plenty about the clear bra's and decided against them. I don't drive on the eway much anymore. I'm up to almost 14k miles and only have 3 or 4 chips in the hood. Have your friend try Klasse. It leaves no white residue. :)
