03 Passat Avant: 46K on the Clock

I got an email from a guy on Passatworld.com after posting a link for my services in the Classifieds. He bought this car 3 months ago and the thing had scratches, dents, and major scuffs all over. The previous owner must have lived on a blueberry farm , b/c this thing was scratched to Hades and back. He had gotten a quote for a respray and didn't want to shell out the bucks, so he asked me to perform a minor miracle and fix the paint as best as possible. He bought some paint from paintscratch.com, and I included it as a step in the detail by applying it to some deep scratches as well as two MAJOR repair areas. While I thought (by Autopian Standards) that they came out "Ok," he was ecstatic. He thought the car looked amazing and I was stoked to help him out. The whole car took 7 hours, with 6 of them spent on paint. The charge was $325, after giving him a $25 break for driving to me from Baltimore Area (I live in Lancaster, PA). After he got home he posted a nice reply to my thread and my phone literally lit up for half an hour with detail jobs. Pictures cam out OK, but theere was never great sun so I did the best I could. He is a great guy and here's his car:

DOesn't look bad from 15 feet. I tried getting a couple good closeups to show the hood scratches and swirls that were evident throughout the car, but the cottonball clouds were the only thing to appear inthe reflection  .

Like I said he was stoked. I wasn't stoked on the touchups just because you can't do it to perfection without body filler and more time and an airbrush, but he said he didn't want all that. Oh well. The rest of the car looked like new: 95% scratch free and no swirls.

THanks for looking! :2thumbs:

GREAT TURNAROUND! It was certainly not an easy accomplishment! 3rd pic down of the carpet stains, i nearly threw up a little in my mouth :(
