03 Maserati Cambiocorsa Coupe detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!!

You've seen this SWEET ride before. It belongs to a regular client of mine. I haven't posted pics of her in a while so I thought I'd throw a few photo's up of today's detail for everyone.

The car is an '03 Maserati Cambiocorsa (paddle shift transmission) coupe that serves as my client's DAILY transportation!! It is his one and only car...God bless!! :xyxthumbs I've been detailing it once a month religiously for a little over a year now. I started when it had about 3K on the odometer...it now shows a tad over 15K. My normal process on the car is ClearKote's Vanilla Moose or Meg's #82 topped with NXT both applied with my PC. Today I went with a different combo. Below are pics and a description of the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Polish with Meg's #83 DACP with a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 5. I usually use this product twice a year on this car (once in the early fall and once in the early spring) to "mop up" any swirls or marring that my normal monthly process does not get.

Seal with Pinnacle's Souveran paste wax by hand with a foam applicator....nuff said. :xyxthumbs

Rims have Meg's NXT on them, tires have Meg's Hot Shine and the glass has ClearKote's Vanilla Moose.

Very beautiful car and awesome detail. It really does look great. I have a couple questions for you.

You used DACP, but you didn't follow up with anything other than Souveran? How did you manage that?

VM on the glass? I've never heard of this, how do you like it and why do you do it?

JDookie...no problem my man...it's all good. :up

As far as going from #83 to a LSP...I actually do this quite often. DACP is one of the few compounds that I can do this with. I have NEVER had the problem of micro marring with this product so there is never a need for me to follow up with a less aggressive polish.

VM on the glass...ya' gotta love ClearKote products!! I do this because it removes any water spots or any other crapola from the glass with out any streaking AND it provides the equivalent benefits of applying RainX or a similar product to the glass.

Wow, that's awesome. This is why I love Autopia, there no end to new ideas and methods. I've never used DACP because I already have 3M PI II RC and was told that the two products perform almost exactly the same. What pad did you use with your DACP? Cutting or polishing? This may be why you were able to go right on top with a lesser polish.

The windows, another great idea. How are you applying it, by hand or pc?

I am loving your method here because I'll be it was VERY fast, huh?

Excellent work! I agree about DACP, you work it until it dusts and the finish is excellent! #80 works well too and seems a touch wetter looking than DACP but either one works for me!

VM on glass is also a great tip. I always do the exterior windows last since no matter what you do, you always end up touching the glass. One of the best things about using VM is no glass cleaner overspray on the paint. :xyxthumbs

I'll bet you look forward to his calls, just so you can touch teh Maserati.

In one of the pictures you can see he is using a cutting pad on the hood.

I do it by hand and use AIO more often then VM on windows. Both work great.
