So i don't usually post pics since I love to just look at everyone else's work (ya'll are amazing!) . 03 with 70,000 miles...3 kids, a dog, tunnel washes, never waxed, typical. Best I could do for $75. Worked on it for about 5 hours with my dad (free labor haha). Customer was absolutly thrilled with the results and booked 3 other cars of hers!

Here it goes:

Used pretty much all over the counter products....blue coral wash, armor wheel cleaner, black magic tire foam, magic erasers, stoners for the glass, Nu-Finish polish with the buffer speed 4 i believe??, oxi-magic and extractor on carpets etc.

Always interested to see OTC-product details on Autopia :bigups

$75 for 5 hours--you work cheap!!!

(I'm doing a freebie for my cousin in the near future. She'll be getting Nu Finish because the car won't be waxed/detailed again while she owns it. I'm detailing her car out of sheer frustration from looking at it)

That NF actually looks pretty good!!!

It works nicely on white. VERY blotchy on darker colors, but I'm curious to see what it does when applied w/ a buffer. Again, doing the cousin's car for free means that I can experiment. :nana:

hahaaha thank you guys for the comments. For the most part....i either do filthy dirty cars like this one or cream puffs and my customers really aren't interested in $100 + detail jobs with high quality products such as the stuff a lot of others use. I know my work isn't up to the TOP NOTCH quality of many on here, but my pricing and customer expectations don't warrant it. So i do the absolute best i can do for the time and money i get for each job. For darker colored cars i usually use Megs Gold Class with the buffer....that stuff it pretty amazing. I typically use Nu-Finish because for a one step polish at $5-6 a bottle it just cannot be beat!!! I will be posting up a few more details later on that i think you guys will really like!

Thanks again!

Nick

Truck looks great! Just watch you don't get NuFinish on any trim because it will stay there forever! I have had to remove stained trim before off customer's cars and it is a b##ch to remove! Meguiars ColorX is a great OTC one step cleaner wax that will buff/remove easier and will not stain trim like NuFinish!

I find this one of the most interesting before/afters ever. No high dollar boutique stuff, in fact you used products that some shun and degrade. I salute you for fine work with ordinary stuff that doesn't require a platinum card to order online.

Does it last as long (bead) as NuFinish???

I use it on my wife's car because a) she doesn't know/care about the difference and b) it still beads after 6 months (on a car that gets garaged).

Otherwise, elmy, masking tape is cheap insurance for preventing stained rubber trim.

As for pricing--I agree--people in my area (even the wealthy ones) seem to have no interest in the mega-dollar 10+ hour Autopia details. Both time commitment and money scare them off.

I can pull off $120-$140 ($140 for SUV's) and that's for a 4-5 hour detail.
