'03 350z turned my pad blue?

I would have expected this from an older car with SS paint, but an 03? It's daytona blue. It has some pretty bad holograms and some swirls. I was using Optimum polish on a yellow edge pad, and it turned my pad blue. Anyone know what would cause this?

Sometimes modern manufacturing lines still use single stage paint. It's not as common anymore but it does happen. I personally like SS paint, it seems to have a greater natural depth of color, especially black.
