03 3-Series, Range Rover, and Mercury Cougar

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Yesterdays first detail. I love the new BMW 3-Series, but I absolutely hate the brake dust that accumulates on their wheels if not professionally cleaned regularly. Here is a 07 328I Coupe with only 15k miles. The brake dust was horrifying !!! These wheels are a royal pain in the arse to clean !!! It took me about 45 minutes extra to bring these wheels back to life, and my 12 wheel brush looked like it was through a war when completed. Gorgeous car though.

I also did a complete on this 05 Supercharged Range Rover with 50 k miles yesterday. You have to love those chrome pipes !!!

Today, I was challenged by this severely neglected Mercury Cougar w/110k miles. The paint was atrocious, and my claybar went from blue to black on the exterior. I had to buff with Hi-Temps Heavy cut leveler, and then followed by 3M Ultrafina. I sealed tis car with Meguiars #21.

Interior was not picnic to boot.

I'm with you on the BMW wheels, but you da man: They look new again! Looks like Clean Dean was on the Scene, LOL!

nice job on that cougar. Did you get that done in one day? looks like it must have been a ton of work

It took about 5 hours. I should have taken some more interior shots, it was pretty atrocious. In between the seats was about 1 inches of food/change and coffee. The back seat had a liquid that had turned to a solid. The customer is actually a very nice person and has a awesome Harley truck that I detail.

This was their daughters car.

Is it me, or are the Cougar's headlights hazy? Anyways great job I'm liking the BMW.

Yes, The headlamps are beyond hazy. Believe me if that could have been corrected it would have. The haze was in internal and not external oxidation.

What's your process for the wheels? They look great!

Had to resort of a diluted HF acid solution. Used a 12" brush, and 2 other brushes before actually hand rubbing the internal lip with a compound. I sealed the external wheel with Klasse Sealant Glaze (Finish was also sealed with Klasse SG).

Dean,

3 Different brushes and a HF acid solution. Sealed the wheels with Klasse SG as well as the paint.

Very hazy. They were not oxidized on the outside, the haze was on the inside of lens. They must have bad seals like the Lincoln Town car and the old Lexus ES.

The Cougar is the most impressive, really nice turnaround. :)

I agree about the BMW brake dust, even on cars I clean each week, it is a real PITA.
